Additional Ideas for Patch

Post by svhrg »

Some very good suggestions have been made in previous post of things to include in the future patch and I just wanted to list a couple of additional items:

1) a toggle allowing for messages indicating when a TF reaches it's DH

2) the ability to review the combat messages while in the orders phase

3) during the graphical combat execution it would be very useful to have a little more info on the level of critical damage sustained by the ship. Currently, almost every bomb or torpedo hit is listed as a critical hit (maybe it just my luck) but you need to get back to the orders phase to get any idea of the level of damage. The summary lets me know how many bombs or torps have hit but would be nice to get a little more info on damage right up front. I know, this is an operational game and as CIC I would not know the extent of the damage until the ships report in to me - however, I think it would be a nice feature (especially if playing longer than 24 hr turns).

4) On the intel screen, under air and ship losses - 2 columns ( US / Japan) would be easier on the eyes

Well, that's all that comes to mind right now, but if anybody has additional ideas/comments let'em roll

Cheers

I'd like to be able to see enemy plane range circles, it's hard to judge how close can one get to Port Moresby or Rabaul without loosing half a fleet.

I'd like to see more battle information which would make things that so many people are unhappy about more understandable.... ie. TF1 launched a 92 plane airstrike against enemy TF3... due to severe storms the fighter cover got separated.. or Fletcher got a headache and decided to turn back despite the fact that enemy carriers sunk and the transports lay all exposed... I find it too dry right now.... but maybe after watching "your fighter cover got separated" 300 times I wouldn't think it's a such a good idea.
Well there should be a toggle for more feedback.
