Lahman Database / 2007 Players/Stats

Post by dzanr »

Shaun -

First, thank you for your responses on this Forum. I know you havea real job and a real life outside of PS. So I appreciate your time and efforts on behalf of the gamers here on the Forum.

I am executing PS2007, level 1.70g. I noticed from the Release Notes that a veraion 1.70b that you included full 2007 MLB Players/Stats in the "Hot Fix." I'm a little confused because when I look at real players who are still in the MLB and view their Real Life Stats I only see seasons through 2006. Is there something else I need to do to get 2007 season stats?

In addition, something I've been meaning to ask: The game manual (section 3.0) references the Lahman Database and the need for the importing of real players from that database. Is this really still required with PS2007? I have thousands of real players availableto me in the game. Yet I do not recall ever importing players from the Lahman Database. Is that really still required?

Thank you.

If you installed 1.70b you should have an option to replay 2007, is that available? If not, maybe you need to reapply 1.70b then g.

As for Lahman, no that manual is a bit out of date it seems. You do not need to download or install Lahman.

That was it, Shaun.  I never applied 1.70b.  I upgraded to v1.70 and then went straight to v1.70f.  I incorrectly assumed that v1.70a thru v1.70e would all automatically be included with v1.70f.  I'm still learning how these hot fixes work.  Thank you!

Shaun, I am having same problem I downloaded the link you gave for the 190mb 1.70 full install and than the 1.71 patch and have downloaed the lahman and put it in the DB folder in the Puresim foler but I don't get an option for the 2007 real mlb setup. Also, I loaded the 2007 player photos numerous times now into the present day faces folder but they aren't appearing when I go to the option to match player photos with the db.

After installing 1.71 patch be sure to copy in the latest Lahman database into the same folder where PureSim is installed.

After loading the new Lahman database version 5.5 (lahman55.mdb) into the PureSim Baseball 2007 directory, do we still need to also keep the lahmanps.mdb file in that directory?    Thanks.

Dzanr, 5.5 replaces lahmanps.mdb. I removed it from the folder and placed it in a documents folder for storage. However, you could delete it if you want.

Thanks, KG. I had a feeling that was the case.

Instead of deleting it, I decided to save it for now as a zip file. That shruck the size from 70KB to 15KB. So I can save it now for awhile at only 20% is full, unzipped size.
