Just wondering how this compares to GalCiv2 TA. Except for the rt/tb obvious lol.

I would suggest to watch the video's and read a couple of posts here and you get a very good impression as I've also played Galciv2 a lot.

Nothing like it apart from being in space.

All of these types of games are kind of alike. You explore, expand, design and build ships, build up different techs, build your economy, interact with different species, trade, spy, fight ships, invade planets, etc etc. The videos tell only a little. I don't expect a demo or I wouldn't be asking. I already have GC2/TA. So I'm wondering how and why this is so much better that I should spend my money. Maybe it is, but so far I don't see it.

I have replied to another thread with this answer,

From all the videos and replies of Elliot, the game is like a 5th generation on steroids version of Starships Unlimited. Which is a very good thing [:D], because despite the horrible graphics, is an excellent game.

Other then that comparison DW cannot be compared to any other 4x title out there, because of the truly unique approach. It would be more accurate to say it is a soup of all the great things about the other 4x great and rolled up into DW.[;)] (Correct me if I am wrong beta testers.)

Actually I hope that DW will be nothing like GalCiv2.
GC2 was very plain and boring game.
Seriosly nothing new and nothing better that old good MoO1 or MoO2 was doing better before.
For me DW look like something like EU3 in space mixed with SE4 and Starship Unlimited with some dose of MoO1.
Anyway if it is something like GC2 on considerable level I dont want it. Becoze GC2 simply sucks for me.

No offence. My personal opinion. For me MoO1 is the best 4x space game in history.
