Progress

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Dave is on holiday with his family until next week, meanwhile the beta team is testing multiplayer on the latest build and adding some final tweaks to the data content. Nothing much left to hold us up now.

Well I think "holiday" is a bit of a stretch. I went up to Queensland for the long weekend to attend my son's graduation from university. But it was good to get away for three days. [:)]

As Richard said we only have a few outstanding bugs - nothing too major. Fingers crossed I should nail these this coming week and then wrap everything up by the end of the following week - subject to the usual caveats.

Good news. All known bugs squashed. I am tidying up the documentation and movies before putting out what I hope will be a our final beta build. If no more bugs surface, then we will go to a full installer version that will become our first "final candidate". If that goes OK then we can sign off and it will be over to Matrix to finalise it for release to the public. How long this process will take depends on a number of things that will be out of our control. Last time ( ie for COTA ) the process of working up the installer took some weeks. Hopefully we can reduce that this time. Stay tuned.

We've just put out what we hope will be our final beta build. All the documentation and movies are done. All known bugs quashed, though that will be up to the beta testers to prove. If all is OK by Monday I will ask Matrix to work up an installer build. We'll then have the beta bunnies test this. With a bit of luck we may be able to sign off at the end of next week. It will then take Matrix a bit of time before it goes on sale.

As I mentioned in another thread, testing highlighted several bugs. Broadly these fall into two categories. Those affecting single player mode and those affecting multiplayer mode. I have just finished fixing all the outstanding single p[layer bugs and have issued a set of replacement Game exes for the beta testers. Paul and I are now working on the multiplayer ones. I'll report back as soon as we have made progress on these.

Hi all,

We put out another beta build today #224. This addressed all known errors except for an installer error under 64 bity systems, which we're still working on. If the beta testers give this the thumbs up on Monday, I'll hand it over to Matrix to work up the first final candidate installer. In the meantime we aim to fix that 64bit installer bug. Fingers crossed this will be it. [:)]

Hi all,

Last night we submitted our latest build 4.0.225 to Matrix so they can prepare the first final candidate installer build. If this passes muster we will sign off and the game will enter production and should be released in a week or so. However, if previous experience is any guide there will be a few minor glitches to resolve and we'll probably have to do a second final candidate before signing off.

So we're very close now. [:)]

I suggest you add an additional option to the Matrix Store...

BFTB Digital Download and $35 to The Panther's Vacation Fund:  $100 USD

I bet you would get more than a few takers.
