Quick question

Based on Slitherine’s popular tabletop wargaming system by the same name, Field of Glory now comes to the PC in a faithful adaptation of this acclaimed miniatures wargame! Without the calculations and measurements required for a tabletop game of Field of Glory, the PC version accurately represents Ancient and Medieval combat where you make the important and fun decisions on the battlefield. This forum also supports the Rise of Rome, Storm of Arrows and Immortal Fire expansions to Field of Glory.

Yes, it does; it just runs in your desktop resolution. I'm grateful that they actually seem to have considerd netbooks as well, it runs beautifully on mine in 1024 x 600.

Just been reading a thread over at wargamer....from what I've read it doesn't bode well. The new era doesn't work so well so they say...shame as this was the expansion that I'd have bought the game for.

I really don't know why they say the AI does not deal with the changes. The changes all work in favour of the AI and prevent unrealistic player created silly manoeuvres. The feedback on our forum is very positive.

I have to agree with Iain, overall the AI seems better to me in SOA than in the previous releases. The multiplayer/PBEM system is still the main draw, but the AI is good for practice.

It's the comment about longbowmen beating french cavalry in melee. Also at range the longbowmen aren't to hot.

Still its only one persons view...I shall check out the slitherine forum,

The effect of archers was to disrupt the enemy mroe than kill them. This is geenrally how battles were won. Casualties were inflicted in greater numbers once one side had run away, not during the main fight.
