Mass Refits

Hugely enjoying the expansion, but was wondering: is there any way to do refits in large numbers or by categories of units? It gets a little bit tedious having to do this individually.

You can set things so that the AI will recommend mass refits. The only downside is that it recommends them for every ship every time there is an upgrade, meaning you can't tell it only to upgrade certain classes if that is you preference. Those mass generic refits can be expensive.

I'm not sure where the problem is... When I have a new design, I just go in to my list of military, exploration, construction ships, or space ports, select all (or a portion) and use the retrofit button there. While you can't order it on ship class, you can usually find a sort option that takes care of it (firepower and maintenance cost usually do the trick). Is it something else you're referring to?

What I'm not seeing, is an easy way to upgrade your fighters. :/

Yes, just sort your ships in the ship list, shift-click or control-click to select the ones you want, then click the retrofit button on the ship list screen.

Since you chimed in Erik, and it's sort of related, am I missing an UI element somewhere that lets me upgrade my fighters? As it stands, I am having to map the ship to a group and then {select fighter, destroy fighter, select ship; repeat} for every carrier ship/base. Which, for me, means I won't be using them all that much; at least until I max the tree.

Unfortunately, in hindsight we did not make that easy but we're planning to make improvements to fighter management in the first or second update.

So fighters are not upgraded automatically? I think that they are like some science inventions to existing systems - some are applied automatically to all your ship.

Ok we will wait for next update.

Thanks for the replies, I've got it figured out now by using the ships and bases screen.

Too bad about the fighters, though. No doubt will be fixed later on.

Having lots of fun with my frog people. (Quameno. Love that research bonus.)

If they are destroyed or scrapped, they'll be replaced with the latest versions, but right now they do not auto-upgrade on their own. We will improve this.
