Support from frozen HQ's?

I'm playing the Soviets in Road to Moscow, and as the Germans have approached the Reserve Front units east of Smolensk, several divisions have unfrozen and become available. However, their owning army HQs are still frozen.

If I give those still-frozen HQs some support units, will they be able to in turn allocate them to the unfrozen divisions? Or, do I need to change the HQ of the unfrozen units to an 'active' HQ (boy I hope not)?

Good question, I'll ask on the tester forum. For now, I'm guessing the support units will be committed as long as the divisions are in range of the HQ.
