I took everything but Leningrad

Post by tkershner »

I recently played the Road to Leningrad scenario as the Germans on the normal setting and decided to see what would happen if I ignored Leningrad and went for all the other VP hexes. What happened was that I put a token force (4 divisions) in the north and attacked in the center and south. The ai seemed to be very confused by this and appeared to keep up its strategy of using a defense in depth around Leningrad and form a line to stop a big push from west to east. Most of the vp towns I was able to take very easily as all the Soviet forces were still defending Leningrad from an attack that never came. I was rewarded with a marginal axis victory. Anyone else try this?

Sounds like good strategy. But vs the AI only.

Definitely! Also would be disasterous in a campaign game.
