Range not extending after capture?

In the tutorial, one of my colonies was destroyed and my ship range decreased. The system was then resettled by the Klurgu. In turn I invaded it and captured the colony.

The colony is now mine, however my ship range has not increased?? As a result I cannot progress any further in that direction??

Conquered colonies do not extend range by themselves. You have to build a relay station on it in order to extend the range.

Ah, I didnt realize that. Ok, I will try building a Relay Station, thanks!
