Minimap compass heading

One thing I've always had a problem with is the direction heading on the minimaps. When you get orders to head in a certain direction they sometimes give you a town or certain building and that helps but if the town isn't on the map I generally have no idea which way to go first.

Which way is North on the minimaps?

Top for non legacy maps (not sure on legacy maps). If you look at how the maps are made, it starts with google earth which shows the traditional N top S bottom.

Edit I wish we had a N marker like CMx1 or the map designer to add a label for North.

DUH....of course. I'll start adding N,S,E,W on my map edges to help with determining the direction you are looking.

I will double-check, but I believe the minimap orientation should always have north at the top.
