Air losses his turn - His offensive against my bases continues. Good portion of losses are recon planes which is fine.

2nd Panzer launches some local attacks and meets some success. I could have created a small pocket here.

Spring 1943 Mud!
95% of my frontline divisions are in static mode. By clear weather I will be back up to 500 APs in my pool for reaction to his offensives. I have a reserve of infantry divisions for reaction/offensive activities of around 25 full strength 100% toe infantry divisions. This is my attrition casualties per turn a far cry from 35-40k per turn I saw before. His attrition is still pretty heavy as his frontline units are not static.
He has withdrawn a lot of his corps from the front so who knows where he will strike this summer.

"Before": in 41/42 ? Or before you went static in 42/43 ?

Static mode lowers atrition loses that much?
Pre 1.05 2.6 to 1 ratio was enough to grind down German Army.
I am guessing based on your data that thats not good enough for the Russian now. He will have to lower the ratio to 2.25 to 1. Your doing better then that with armor forses so if you counter attack allot more you will weaken hes forses long run. Also with the lower attrition your in good shape.
Can you give me an idea when he started attacking to the mud turn what your total troop count was?
Also is your gun numbers holding steady?
Hes got to get you down to 2.3 million men before your army breaks. Hes got a long long ways to go at his slow rate of attack. If hes only attacking 10 to 20 hexes a turn thats not enough to break you. Hes got to attack all along the long. 50+ a turn and that would take atleast a yr I am guessing if not more.
Hoooper took about 30 turns and I only had 3.o million men and about 25 to 30% of his attacks per turn were 1v1=2v1. He lost 1/2 the none 1v1=2v1 attacks, but because of the huge arm output back then he knew it would pay off in long run.
If you could track your and his losses, total guns and troops for 10 turns. If you post the OOB an dead list the first turn of summer and then 10 turns later I can figure it out for myself.
The trend will give you a guess at how things will long 40 or 50 turns down road

RE: Winter 1942
It is good to see that Static mode can play a role in attrition management. While I doubt I would be brave enough to put 95% of the front into static, it looks like at 50% a substantial boost to manpower will be available.
It's only a Game
RE: Winter 1942
Attrition this turn was really low. When the front went mud a few turns ago was when I really kicked the static way up as an experiment.

RE: Winter 1942
What scares me about playing this game is a look at those German AFV numbers... nearlly 6000!!! Unbelievable! Aircraft die like flys in this game although they still kill way to many tanks but tanks do not die enough.
In '42 the Russians kept dipping under 3000 AFVs.

Looking over my AFVs and I found this to be odd. Is this accurate to have that many Panthers in so many divisions in the Spring of 43?

RE: Winter 1942
According to a source I read, by Army orders, 250 Panther D's were to be ready by mid-May. Another 600 were finished by September 1943.
RE: Winter 1942
looks like many panthers. U are lucky ketza . I got a game on turn 92 and i got 200 panthers d. and looking at reinforcements i can see we get 2 panther bats with 96 each begining may and 20 produced each turn in addition to those.
RE: Winter 1942
Lots of delays in the game but its still going!
May 1943 -
Italians took a hit and I am taking them out of the line. Germany holds strong numbers wise. Panzers are in great shape the LW not so much.

Last turns losses. I think the number is blown up from Italian disbands. I could not view any combats in the file nor did any show up on the map.
