Plimus takes the order and the money, but no game

Post by jareel »

Tried buying the Distant Worlds trilogy. Got no email notification, though I can see the order on their "check your order". And its not in my spam.

This happened 4 days ago
I emailed Plimus both the day it happened and the next day. No response to date
I emailed MAtrix the the next day. No response to date

I sort of expected things not to happen on Boxing Day. But 4 days later and no response, despite taking the money is BAD

I have ordered from MAtrix in the past when they used Digital River, and all went fine

Forgotten all my old log ins, so had to register just to get this across

Is Matrix/Plimus now known for terrible service like this

They also seem to keep your credit card information. I know I don't like that.

Ok, so have PM'd Stephanie. Also have an email from Erik at Plimus saying they resent the email. Whilst STILL nothing arrived (just rechecked my spam filters etc) then at least we have some movement. Appreciated... Maybe sometime in 2012 I get a game.... 40 minutes to go here

So to conclude....

Stephanie was genuine, and managed to get me the downloads using a gmail account

Hence Plimus should, overall, be regarded as having done a good job here

Not really sure what caused the problem in the first place - somehow my default email account must not like at all the plimus IP addresses

But solved. Just in time to start work again :(

I would worry a bit if you gave Stephanie any sensitive information. Even if she is real, I question that any company should be responding and handling such matters in this way. Not professional and certainly suspicious is not a good way to do business.

Just my opinion. I hope she is real, gave great service and that you enjoy the game.

My thoughts exactly, the way that happened is scary.

I think there is a good phrase "trust but verify".

From my perspective I could verify that Stephanie SEEMED to work for Plimus (credible Linked In page) and I find the idea that someone with nefarious intent would choose THIS forum to hang out as unlikely. Not zero, but unlikely.

Anyway, for me taking the trust risk was worth it. Now I am playing the game (well, to date about 5 minutes of it)

I guess good customer service means sometimes engaging

I can't see what's 'unprofessional' or wrong in any other way; Matrix staffers do the exactly the same all the time. Asking for credit card details would certainly be 'suspicious'... but she didn't! What's the supposed 'risk' in providing the order number?

Hi Hertston,

Well you don't know what is asked until contact.

Known Matrix staffers appearing on a Matrix forum is not suspicious. A first name only unidentified person appearing with a first (or early) Matrix Recruit post is. I would not trust it, you are certainly free to be as trusting as you like.

I'm glad it worked out well.

Also there was a wave of spam attacks at that same time.
