combat command

Post by budd »

This is an attempt to draw some interest to this game and maybe get some info on it's status from the people in the know. Posting in the actual game forum hasn't received any attention.I apologize in advance for those of you who opened this thread expecting something else. I just think we "the frustrated few" aren't used to a lack of info or response for a game in the new release section from these forums, it's not the norm around here.

Count me as one of the frustrated. This is a fine game and has a small but devoted core of fans that would like some response from the good folks who sold it to us.

Page 40, paragraph 3 of the manual:

"A withdrawing unit may always move one hex, regardless of the MPs required to enter that hex."

The game DOES NOT DO THAT and this is the reason we are all frustrated about withdrawal!

.
.
As an attacker, you can never force an enemy unit to withdraw.

As an attacker, you cannot disengage and move arou8nd the flank.

As an defender you cannot withdraw to another position.

As a player as soon as a unit is adjacent to an enemy unit you know the units wil be stuck there till one side is destroyed: therevby ruinng a otherwise wonderful wargame!

I would like to buy this game but will not until

1. the problems are either fixed or AT LEAST addressed
2. the game gets at least a minimum level of support

I like this wargame so a fix should be welcome.

I've been looking at this game as a possible purchase for months but I hold off because the lack of support. The players who have this game rate it so highly, that it should have an increase in sales if they would only fix a couple of the issues that have been mentioned over and over again in Combat Command's specific forum. If they are unable to be fixed because of the game engine, then it would be nice to state that fact and then the players would have an answer to their requests.

Because I don't read the manuals like I used to, I missed Page 40, paragraph 3. Thank you Joe '98 for explaining to me why this game felt so stagnant. I'm betting it gets corrected. It has to.

There is a smallish Guadalcanal battle. Plays well from either side. More can be made.

I don't own the game, but I feel for the current owners who love it and aren't getting any response to their queries\questions.

They've been posting like mad over at the game forum and have a big fat 0 in response from anyone involved at Matrix.

Come on, someone must know something, I hate it when Matrix seems to abandon a game and it's players as normally they are very good at responding.

Did anyone "notice" the major SPAM attack. Combat Command seems to have missed notice by this jerk.
