WITP-replacements toggle

Post by MBogdasarian »

I don't understand a peculiarity of the game and would like some direction: for the Chinese there is some difficulty getting replacements to front line units which have taken losses. If there are several in a hex one can access the unit board which lists all the units. At the bottom there are two tabs, one for replacements, and one for not taking replacements. Clicking the former allegedly allows all units in the hex to take replacements, and on looking at the specific unit, at the bottom left corner, the "allow replacements" tab is visible. However, if one has a single unit, it does not seem to take replacements if the "allow replacements" tab is visible, and instead one must click the tab so that "no replacements" tab shows. The confusion is allowing my Chinese units to remain very understrength. What is correct? If the tab is showing for an individual unit to "accept replacements", is that the action accepted (which is the obverse of the "divide unit" and "rebuild unit", which need to be clicked to allow the action to occur) or should it be clicked to show "do not accept replacements"? Then what should one do with the listing of all the units in the hex, change each individually or turn on the "do not accept" button so that on the unit menu the lower left reads "do not accept replacements"?

I make sure the individual units say recieve replacements. Any unit will only recieve units if it has enough supply. I have found that the Chinese only do well if they are in Chungking with a lot of supply.

Thanks for the clarification. I will have to move some units back to Chungking...

There is a known bug concerning using the master button to allow replacements for all units at a base.  If you have static units at the base they will move off on their own and the only way to order them back is if they lose the large guns that made them static.

I learned this the hard way.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.
