I just love attacks [:D] dos'nt matter if its German or Russian. If succesful you could bust open the South......NO mercy for the dreaded SS!

The problem I face now is that my mechanized corps are quickly losing their CV, and the Axis are able to channel his frontline units into a smaller front, but we keep on pushing [:)]

Turn 181

Overall
The Axis fell back all along the front, something that means we were able to attack in fewer places as some fronts are too low on morale. The Axis also left alot of Rumanians and Hungarians as well as German SEC units as speed bumbs. In most cases I simply pushed them back as I lacked armor or mechanized corps in those areas. Nevertheless we end the turn with 17 Axis units surrounded. All in all we managed 39 attacks, scoring 12 held, 20 retreats and 7 routs. The fact that we had 12 held results is shown in the ammount of lost tanks this turn;
Axis : 45.000 troops and 109 AFVs
USSR : 75.000 troops and 451 AFVs

Units
5 TACs are sent to the reserves, and we spend some points on changing units from one HQ to another.
Our forces claim a net growth of 69.000 troops this turn.

Pools
As 165.000 workers report to the manpower pool this turn, it ends at 5.351.
Vehicle pool : 297.807
Armaments pool : 975.543
AFV pools : lowest is the T-34 1944 model at aproxomately 1.100

Liberation
Voroshilovgrad and W.Moscow is liberated this turn.

Operation ARGH I am stuck
I will soon have to rest the mechanized corps of HQ Zhukov to get their CV back up.

Partisans
The Axis chase 9 units away, leaving us with 30 units on the map. We manage 8 sabotague missions, and 13 supply drops this turn.

Turn 182

Overall
The enemy is still fallin back in most areas. In the north they are doing so at a much higher speed than we are able to use in our pursuit, so no attacks are made north of Moscow. We still manage 40 attacks this turn, while the Axis make 2 attempts to break out in the south. The Axis score 2 held, while we manage 7 held, 25 retreats, 2 routs and 6 surrenders. Losses are given at;
Axis : 153.000 troops and 383 AFVs
USSR : 79.000 troops and 320 AFVs.

Units
Only 1 TAC request vacation this turn. We spend some points on changing HQs for some units. Next turn I guess I will have to either use HQ buildup, or start "wasting" points.
Our ground forces claim a net growth of 98.000 troops this turn.

Pools
As a total of 152.000 workers report to the manpower pool this turn, it ends at 2.626.
Vehicle pool : 293.921
Armaments pool : 991.965

Liberation
Kalinin, Moscow and N.Moscow is liberated this turn. Next turn Stavka will move back "home".

Units destroyed
We bagged alot of units this turn;
1st SS Panzer Division
22nd SS Cavalry Division
197nd, 223rd, 239nth, 389nth and 394th German Infantry Divisions
97th German Jaeger Division
102nd and 103rd German Panzer Brigades
3/201st, 2/203rd, 2/221th, 1/286th, 2/391st German Security Divisions
108th Hungarian Reserve Division
5th Hungarian Infantry Division

Operation ARGH I am stuck
We might have to halt for a turn soon, now I am not too concerned about our CV, but my mechanized and tank corps needs to refuel.

Partisans
The Axis still has available units to chase down 12 of our partisans this turn, leaving us with 29. Our guys then manage 12 sabotague missions, but are let down by our pilots that only fly 4 supply missions.

Bug??
Look at the bottom of the screenie, am I supposed to see those messages?

Turn 183

Overall
The Axis fall back in some areas, but in the north our advance has been so slow that they have managed to produce level 3 fortifications again. No sweat since the units up there are ill suited for attacking anyway. We continue to push in the south, and this turn we trap 5 Axis divisions. We manage to get most of our mechanized units up to their requirement levels in terms of supply and fuel by aerial drops. This turn we launch 42 attacks, scoring 8 held, 33 retreats and 1 rout.

Units
2 TACs are sent to the reserves this turn. We spend points on reassigning HQs as usual. Stavka moves back into Moscow, atleast THEY are where they were at the start.
Our ground units report a net growt of 66.000 troops this turn.

Pools
With 154.000 workers reporting to the manpower pool, it ends at 3.131.
Armaments pool : 986.693, I guess it is safe to say I will have enough weapons for this war.
Vehicle pool : 288.192. It frops about 5.000 per turn, meaning at this pace I will run out in 57 turns, which means I am good.

Operation ARGH I am stuck
I have now stopped bombing the enemy on the ground with my level bombers, they are now on supply duty.

Partisans
The Axis "chase" away 14 uniits ("chase" because some of them they retreated into..), leaving us with 28 on the board. Our guys perform 15 acts of sabotague, and are rewarded with 7 supply drops.

Turn 184

Overall
The Axis make only limited retreats this turn, once more sacrificing the units of their minors as speedbumbs. I just knock them back in most places as I do not have the ability to surround them all. Once more our level bombers are used to keep supplies flowing to the units furthest into enemy ZOCs. We make a total of 54 (!!) attacks this turn, scoring 5 held, 39 retreats, 9 rout and 1 surrender (although it can be argued that 1 of the retreats should be counted as a surrender, as 2 units in that stack surrendered and 1 retreated). Losses are given as;
Axis : 98.000 troops and 183 AFVs
USSR : 100.000 troops and 290 AFVs.

Units
2 TACs are sent to the reserves this turn. We then spend a total of 239 points on HQ buildups, reassigning units, and creating/distributing SUs.
Our forces claim a growth of 79.000 troops.

Pools
176.000 workers arrive at the manpower pool this turn, ending it at 2.992.
Vehicle pool : 286.233
Armaments pool : 980.171.
I also note that my IS-2 pool is high (1300 unused), so how many heavy tank regiments do people usually make?

Units destroyed
The 3rd SS Panzer Division, 18th SS Panzer Grenadier Division, 4th SS Grenadier Division, Frontier Rumanian Infantry Division and the 1st Rumanian Mountain Division are all destroyed this turn.

Operation ARGH I am stuck
The offensive is starting to show some real effect, so far it has destroyed alot of units, and now the remaining Axis units in the south are mostly 1 CV units.

Partisans
11 units are forced to retreat this turn, leaving us with 26. We manage 16 acts of sabotague, while our pilots make 9 supply drops.

Any chance of staging a true breakout - blow a hole in his lines & send the mechanized corps for the hills?

Only if "the hills" are no more than 4 hexes away [:D]
Due to difficulty getting supply to the most advanced units, only a handful of units will be in the 40+ MP range, while the remaining will be around 20-30.
And by now the Axis is also defending in depth just as I did for 3 years (2-3 units behind eachother), so breakthroughs will be hard to get by. I might succeed in doing so after the next mud period if I relocate HQ Zhukov...

heawy tanks for russia gets increased production in 1944. Not many players reach that stage.

U should have many more su with heawy tanks.

Check your number of guard heawy tank SU u have now in filter and check your average loss of em last 5 turns. Then double the number of units lost per turn and see if its still below production per turn.If its below production u can then double your heawy tank SU.

IS-2 is realy good tank. check the front armour and compare to p-4 and t-34 and u see how good they are. 1200 in pool sounds like a big waste. ecpecially when u only field 8k tanks in total (light, medium, heawy, support units,TD )

Guess I will have to create some more then [:)]

Turn 185

Overall
The Axis fall back 3 hexes which means our ability to attack is severely restricted this turn. We do manage a total of 24 attacks, scoring 2 held, 16 retreats, 3 routs, 1 shatter and 2 surrenders. Losses are rather light;
Axis : 49.000 troops and 98 AFVs
USSR : 70.000 troops and 206 AFVs

Units
1 TAC and 1 LB is sent to the reserves this turn. We also spend 15 points on SUs.
Our forces claim a net growth of 98.000 troops this turn.

Pools
As 173.000 workers report to the manpower pool, it ends at 1.468.
The vehicle pool takes a dip after the HQ build ups last turn, and ends at 238.546.
Armaments pool : 974.715

Liberation
Our valiant forces have liberated the following cities;
Vyshny Volochek
Torzhok
Kursk
Kaluga
Orel
Belgorod
Gorlovka
This greatly influences the victory point count.

Units destroyed
The German 4th Cavalry Division, the German 1/12th Luftwaffe Field Division, the German 2/213th Security Division, the German 2/52nd Security Division, the 121st Hungarian Reserve Division and the III Hungarian Artillery Battallion were all destroyed this turn.

Partisans
The Axis forced 13 units to retreat, leaving us with 23 active units. Our guys make 8 sabotague missions, but our pilots only make 2 supply drops this turn.

Off the top of my head, historically they maintained about 20-25 Heavy Tank Regiments. Start building!

Looks like best you can do is a Draw. You have some ground to make up to avoid an Axis Minor Victory. Not sure how far 142 VPs is, but he probably can't lose the Balkans and make that number.

142 VPs are exactly what he starts the campaign with, so you have to get to the border and cross it.

Yup, but considering my disasters ([:D]) in 1943, I am happy with a draw.

Turn 186

Overall
The Axis fall back once more, which means less attacks being made. It does however allow me the oppertunity to rearrange the fronts in the Stalino area which was badly needed. I now hope the Axis stay on the spot for one turn, which would grant me a minor chance at doing some harm to their line, but I doubt it. As we add up the battles, we get 2 held, 20 retreat and 3 surrender, for a total of 25 attacks. Losses are;
Axis : 83.000 troops and 186 AFVs
USSR : 66.000 troops and 284 AFVs.

Units
1 TAC is sent to the reserves this turn, and we give some of our infantry units some heavy tank regiments as well as some sapper regiments. Our forces claim a net growth of 78.000 troops this turn.
It seems our guys do not like the American tanks, as the Shermans are all rusting in the pool.

Pools
A mere 125.000 workers arrive at the manpower pool this turn ending it at 586.
Vehicle pool : 244.481
Armaments pool : 988.811

Liberation
Our forces liberate Makeevka.

Units destroyed
The German 610th SP Light Flak Battalion, the 15th Rumanian Infantry Division, the 6th Rumanian Infantry Division, the 1st Hungarian Armoured Division, the 17th Hungarian Infantry Division, the 26th Hungarian Infantry Division, the 27th Hungarian Infantry Division and the 124th Hungarian Reserve Division are all destroyed this turn.

Operation ARGH I am stuck
This operation is now called off. In the sense that new plans are being made for a minor renews offensive involving the same units.

Partisans
The Axis chase away 7 units leaving 22 on the board. Our guys perform 11 acts of sabotague, but our pilots does not fly at all.
