Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

just wondering why the game did not cover the scenarios of the first HTTR.. so those faithful who bought both , and at a HUGE bargain.... get a great product, but why not all the scenarios?
just wondering..
How hard would Goodwin be to mod? Seriously i b wanting a Normandy scenario or campeign...
the game scales well... we could up the scale and release it as a stand alone...

If we had sunk enough effort to do all the scenarios then we would have released this as a stand alone game and charged you full price for it. We opted to do a expansion pack rather than a full game so we could get somethign out to you sooner and at less cost. There is nothing stopping you from recreating those scenaios yourself as we provide a full suite of editing software.

In addition to what Arjuna said above, many of the scenarios that were "not included" from the old HTTR were more or less variants to the historical campaigns, where reinforcement schedules were modified here and there and presented as a whole new scenario.

Most of these are so easy to create from the templates provided here, it actually seemed (to me)like a cheap marketing ploy to include them just to plump up the number of scenarios.

lol - I know the answer to this (and I have to admit to only firing up Joes Bridge at the mo) - but is there any chance in the future we'd have to fight, defend and ultimately get to Arnhem from 30 Corps starting line? [:D]

I had to ask you understand.

And whilst I'm in here - what was with the Nijmegen to Arnhem scenario? I heard one is in the game...was that done as a "test" 'cos I don't think anything like that was in the original.

For me, the Nijmegen to Arnhem mega-scenario (not in the original HTTR btw) is pushing the limit with this current engine. I have a pretty good rig and the game still chugs laboriously along by the time mid-game comes along. Plus I never used the mini-map so much as now, jumping between Nijmegen and Arnhem.

I really can't imagine Joes Bridge to Arnhem at Command Ops' 100m per "hex" scale.[:D]
