AGCs

Post by tocaff »

My loading of HQs units onto AGs has been a hit or miss affair. The HQs are amphib, but only sometimes will load. The port size is an 8 and there's a huge amount of supply.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated by me and the results, if successful, will be disliked by Steve.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

I assume for amphibious load you have the HQ in combat mode. If you are trying to "transport" the unit, it won't do so in combat, need to change to strategic. But that's rather elementary. I don't mean to insult you!

Good answer for AE, but this is WITP vanilla and there are no modes for the units.

Have you tried putting the AGC in a separate transport taskforce, set to Do Not Unload, before loading?

I have formed a new TF with only the AGC as a transport and then as an amphib and tried to load. No dice. The port is an 8 and supplies is over 900K. This was done as the only TF present and as 1 of many. No dice. This also isn't the first time I've had this problem as when the HQs unit arrives in SF I can't board them sometimes.

If only the search function on the forums would work......

I remember that this has been a regular topic: there are two types of Amphibious HQs,
Amph Command HQ and Amph Corps HQ, or some other small difference in the name. But the one type loads onto an AGC, the other one does not. Don't ask me which one does....

maybe this rings a bell for someone with better knowledge/memory than me....

Yes, TOE contains three Amphib Force HQs and three Amphib Corps HQs. First are supposed to be loaded on the AGC and kept afloat during invasion to reduce landing troops disruption. Second are regular marines Corps HQs which are supposed to land on the beach with the rest of marines to provide them additional support squads and some 10% AV bonus. Note however that to have a chance to provide AV bonus such Corps HQ must have disruption below 50. Here is AGC loaded Amphib Force coming handy...

Googled link to one of that many AGC threads (contains more links inside).

OK, I'll find out with my next big op if it'll work.
