AE Extended Map

Post by Empire101 »

I have been checking out the DaBigBabes site and am toying with the idea of using B or C, which use's the Extended Map.

The relevant page goes on about downloading the Jonesoft "Generic Mod Enabler" (GME), at the following link:
http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/softwa ... jsgme.html

This link appears not to be working.

Is the 'GME' still required?

I don't use it. I prefer to use separate installations for each game.
I think that the two obligations you have are to be good at what you do and then to pass on your knowledge to a younger person

So everytime you start a new game, you have to re-install the AE Extended map files?

Is that the only effect Dan?

Not exactly. I have a separate AE folder tree for each PBM. If you already have one PBM where you have the extended map installed, just copy the whole thing over to a new one (it only takes a few minutes). Then delete the save games and what not from the game you copied from, and the folders are ready to go. Then create a new pair of shortcuts for AE and Tracker that point to the new folder tree. Ready to go!

That whole thing is 'not' required. The site hosted ABs files but we are pulling it down because all it does is confuse people. All you need is the files on Page 7. I wish people would read the pages. It is very simple if you read the pages.

Hmmm.... it does state quite plainly about having to download the GME. I was just following orders.....

Empire 101 -

Andrew Brown's expended map zip link is still available. The 2nd link - "jscones/software/products" link was unnecessary.

Hope that you will give AB extended map a try; once in never out... <grin>

Mac

P.S. - Real Men use the extended map...
