4/1st Division is loaded on a Aden Cargo class xAK moving to Fusan. (1st Division is a Manchurian division with lots of experience and is normally spread around. This means they have put the division together and bought it out)

Good thing the Americal is ashore for the most part, and will be fully ashore before they arrive.
We do have three USN CVs in the area, with one refitting in Auz, and did upgrade her Buffs to Wildcats. We have numerous USN/RAN cruisers and DDs in the area to oppose this landing if they don't escort it heavily. Their invasions to date have been very well executed, unloaded fast, and very heavily escorted by sea and air. Hoping we have an opportunity to give them a bloody nose. Getting the Americal there when we did was an excellent choice, and I feel good about holding that area and protecting our link to Auz from PH and WC.

I did kind of present the idea that it was more than an airborne invasion can handle, and am glad at this point I did not commit an Indian Bde there.

CONUS:

17th BG at Pendleton disbanded. This was the only option for it and it needed to be “removed by 15 Feb, 1942 P”. Stripped pilots first and the B-25Bs not going to the pools is not a big deal in the long run. We will have to watch for opportunities to pull some of these half trained pilots into other training squadrons later to complete their training.

Same thing done with 12thBG/94th RS at Tacoma, except we could disband this one as it is returning later.

Pulled a PC and the AP Barrnett out of the TF that just arrived back in LA. This is going to San Francisco for use there.

The TKs that just arrived at LA are docked and filling with fuel for a trip back to Sydney. It will have 113,580 fuel on it. The two xAKs were put in the port for use in a cargo TF.

S-44 arrives at San Diego. Since the S boats torps work we are giving her our best available commander for submarines at this time, J. Ginder, LCDR, USN (3 PP). We are sending her to Pago Pago which is at the limit of her endurance. We can then figure out where to put her to use then.

CANAL ZONE:

APD sent from Cristobal to Balboa and disbanded there.

DDs Cushing and Smith assigned to TF 254 (Hornet), who along with CL Nashville are being sent to Pago Pago for reassignment into the SOPAC area as needed. This will take 14-18 days.

We need to remember to replace the Helldivers and Devastators on the Hornet when she gets to where it can be done. We have plenty of SBD-3’s to do this at this time. Avengers will be coming online shortly.

2xAPD and a 16kt xAK are loading the F Det SUN Port Svc and will be en-route to Pearl Harbor.

The other DD and the rest of the current xAKs will be departing for LA for assignment there.

NOPAC:

Moving CVs to cover Amphib for PM. Right now, it looks like a baby KB that is close. We shall see where it goes based on this. We need the BF on PM to help with the defense.

Moved subs from the PM area to the Horn straights to cover better. If they come through, maybe an S boat will catch one or a Gato gets lucky with a Mk14.

Americal Division is slowly unloading at Noumea. Most of the assault units are there, a lot of support is still unloading. It will take time. The TF with “PT Boats” on it is five days out. It will create PT Boats when it gets there.

I am moving the AGP from Pago Pago to Noumea to support the PT Boats that will soon be based there. The PC Reliance will be escorting. Should have sent it with the xAKs!

We are gearing up for some kind of conflict in the next 30 days or so. The Japanese will lose their invasion bonus after

ANZAC:

CHINA:

2nd Sqn/AVG is moved to Chungking for some R&R and rebuilding. They have only 8 air frames left and a morale of 45. They are pretty much useless at Changsha and would just be losing more air frames for little or no return. They will wait here until we can move them to India to upgrade them.

Set a few units to move around or stay put to solidify the line in good cover all across the front. It is a waiting game for the Chinese. Preserve and build up strength. It costs the Japanese men and material to attack in this area. The Chinese have more men and the Japanese have to ship in the material when they are expanding elsewhere and need those supplies elsewhere. Time is on our side, here.

CONUS:

TF sent to San Francisco yesterday is going back to LA, missed a new xAP that arrived there today. Going to escort both to San Francisco instead of just one.

APD Colhoun arrives in Cristibol, sending through canal zone to Balboa to join her sisters.

xAK Admiral Way arrives in Balboa. She will stay here until a larger number arrive for the trip to LA for further assignment.

NOPAC:

CENTPAC:

Langley is just a couple of days from Midway.

SOPAC:

No sign of Japanese carriers and the BF is mostly unloaded at PM. It will be heading back to Townsville when done. There will be more units to shuttle to PM there by then. The TF does have 2/2 detection. So they know it is there. Need to keep the LRCAP over it The carriers remain undetected, even though they have found a sub nearby. Maybe we need to build an ASW TF to have the carriers follow wherever they go?

SS Trigger is available at Mare Is. LCDR Lewis pitiful (32 Agress), replaced him with CDR Welch (60 Naval/77 Agress). Sent her and her new captain to Pearl Harbor.

113k fuel has left LA en-route to Sydney, 45 days out.

CANAL ZONE:

SS Greenling arrives at Cristobal, transiting the canal this turn then en-route to Pearl.

APD Manley arrives at Cristobal, transiting the canal to disband at Balboa.

Langley is less than a day from Midway. She just might make it! It is the small victories!

CONUS:

Mixed fleet arrived in LA. This had an AO that was hit by a Japanese Torpedo near Pago Pago. It made it back to LA and is in the shipyard to be repaired. The speed 14 tankers have formed a 56,790 fuel TF that is formed, docked and loading for a trip to Sydney. It is a 45 day trip to Sydney.

The speed 16 tanker joined the speed 16 xAKs and starts loading with fuel. They are waiting on another 16kt xAK due into LA in 3 days for their trip to Sydney.

8th PG and 3rd BG loaded up at San Francisco and will be en-route to Sydney. It is 59 days to Sydney.

255th USNBF needs a destination. I am thinking Noumea. We have two days to decide as it will take them that long to pack up.

CANAL ZONE:

SS Haddock arrives at Cristobal, transiting the canal this turn then en-route to Pearl.

NOPAC:

Tanker from Seattle taking another load of Fuel to Dutch.

CENTPAC:

Langley made it to Midway, she is only a couple of minor flot from the total major, so, she is sent on to Pearl with auto disband set so she can go into the repair yard there ASAP. It is a two week trip with several anchorages along the way. If she starts to get bad we can disband her there and run a repair ship out to it to patch her up for her trip to Pearl.

Cargo ship has arrived at Pearl. They are unloading and will be absorbed by Amphip TF to take 161st to Koumac.

SOPAC:

Well, we lost the AGP that was going to Noumea. That sucks.

Enterprise TF is at 5/5 on detection. I think they know she is there! Time to move. I suggest a little more east, but stay within range 7 of the TF at PM. Suggest 98,136 as it will take you far enough east to be out of CV range even with a 9 hex move by them.

PM is overloaded at the AF and will take extra losses.

ANZAC:

Lexington will be ready to assemble her TF in two days with new increased AAA capability.

Taking the Engineer units off of rest worked. They expanded the AF at Chungking by 11% in one day!

CONUS:

30th Coast AA arrives in Tacoma, North Pacific HQ, set for Dutch and set to strat to Seattle to load on a transport TF that will arrive shortly. This will push Dutch’s F15 to F20.

TF46 is loading up 1/198th Coast AA, 1st/102nd Inf Bn, and 2nd Marine Raider Bn. It will go to Christmas Island and unload 1st/102nd, then on to Bora Bora where it will unload 1/198th Coast AA, merge it with the 2/198th Coast AA, reload the unit and deposit it and the 2nd Marine Raiders at Noumea.

CANAL ZONE:

SS Haddock arrives at Balboa, finishes transiting the canal this turn and is en-route to Pearl.

Two xAKs arrive at Cristobal, on to Balboa with them.

NOPAC:

Nothing to do here.

CENTPAC:

161st loading at Pearl for a trip to Koumac via a location SE of Enderbury Island.

SOPAC:

TF120 arrives at Pago Pago with a butt-load of supplies and fuel. The TF will need to be split up to dock ships to unload quicker. Fuel first, then cargo.

Americal Div is slowly unloading its larger pieces. 134th BF is done, just supplies left to unload there, although it only has 16V. There is 90 more V two weeks out. Soon we will be able to start flying aircraft from Noumea.

Changed Noumea to SW Pacific command (40PPs). We can now create PT boats there. One squadron created. This will be a great deterrent to any landings in this region!

TF179 is ordered to stop unloading at PM and get underway immediately to Townsville. They only had 817 supplies left to unload, but were at 9/9 detection. Betty bait!

PM has almost 100E, we may want to start expanding the airfield there, especially if we think we can keep it.

ANZAC:

Lexington will be ready to assemble her TF in one day with new increased AAA capability.

CHINA:

Taking the Engineer units off of rest worked. They expanded the AF at Chungking by 11% in one day again, up to 22%! I am excited! 28 days to a level 7 AF!

Taking some of the low attack value units and trying to slip them in behind the Japanese lines. Not sure how well this will work. If I lose them they will just come back 30 days later at a much stronger unit. This has worked for others, why not us?
