Conflict of Heroes:Storms of Steel. Kursk1943

This exciting new release is a faithful adaptation of the renowned Conflict of Heroes board game that won the Origins Historical Game of the Year, Charles Roberts Wargame of the Year and the James F. Dunnigan Design Elegance Award, as well as many others!

Designed and developed in cooperation with Uwe Eickert, the original designer of Conflict of Heroes, and Western Civlization Software, the award-winning computer wargame studio, no effort has been spared to bring the outstanding Conflict of Heroes gameplay to the computer. Conflict of Heroes includes an AI opponent as well as full multiplayer support with an integrated forum and game lobby. To remain true to the core gameplay of the board game, the PC version is designed to be fun, fast and easy to play, though hard to master. The game design is also historically accurate and teaches and rewards platoon and company-level combined arms tactics without overwhelming the player with rules.

How about a little teaser with what the new release might or might not contain, maybe even a couple pics to look at as well.

We're in the process of finalizing the SOS unit models. I'll try to put some screenshots together when that is finished.

We expect to be moving into beta testing on the DLC by early next month.

I have a deal for Matrix......You release Storms of Steel (or just show screen shots) and I'll buy Ghost Divisions!!

PS: I planned on buying Ghost Divisions regardless. [:)]

Since, each WCS adaptation of COH serie seems to be really close to the original boardgame product I Wonder if the new one introduce the shared activation rules or not.

To be more descriptive for the people who doesn't experiment the 2nd edition of the rules (the upgrade of Sos in 2010, and of AtB last year), it introduced a new exception to the rule allowing only one unit to be activated at a time: with the basic 7 AP (plus potential CP), a player may activated several units, even non-adjacent; of course each unit will be flipped at the end of the activation.

It's a strong modification of the gameplay not implement yet. Will it be a part of the new release ?

It's just bullshit !

I don't know whether we have time in the schedule to allow non-adjacent units to be allowed to be activated in group-movement like this. Some of the rule changes that take only a couple sentences of written English end up requiring hundreds of lines of new code to implement, and a lot of additional testing work.

There won't be any bundle packs soon. We really need to assess how well the DLC sells on its own so we can figure out whether we should do more DLC packs.

Well, in fact, shared activation is not a group activation. It's far more simple: each unit act sequentially with the same amount of AP...

SOS should be released in Q3 2013.

In terms of the game engine, shared activation would be a variant form of group activation.
