Damian sent me his contribution; now I need to find the time and motivation to merge it with the master code and finish up the few things I was working on. I can't really give you a firm ETA...
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.
An unplanned dynasty: Roger Neilson, Roger Neilson 11, Roger Neilson 3 previous posts 898+1515 + 1126 = 3539.....Finally completed my game which started the day WITP:AE was released
I am coming back to WitP:AE after having been gone for a while but it seem I am having issues with Tracker. The app starts but the crashes. The error is JAVA (TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working. A problem caused the program to strop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit so I edited the WitPTracker.bat file to:
This creates the following files before it crashes - trackerbd.backup; trackerdb.data; trackerdb.log; trackerdb.properties; trackerdb.script.
My witptracker.properties files is -
# WitPTracker AE properties file
# Directory of the game
Dir=[C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition]
# Type of game. 0=AI, 1=PBEM
GameType=[0]
# Side you are playing. 0=Japan, 1=Allies
Side=[1]
# Password. Only needed for PBEM
Password=[abc123]
# Name of the base save file
SaveFile=[wpae005.pws]
# Mode the program will look for save files.
# 0 = just in the local folder
# 1 = just in the game folder: [Dir]/SAVE
# 2 = local and then if not found there, the game folder
SaveMode=[2]
# Text to put in the header of the main window
Header=[wpae005]
# Turn cycle (days per turn). 1 or 2 are supported
TurnCycle=[1]
I have tried to delete and reinstall a bunch of times and seem to be getting now where. Any toughts? I tried to run the exe file but the following error occurs - "This executable was created with an evaluation versin of exe4j".
I've heard it won't work on Java 7. You also need to have Java 6 available and target that. I'd also heard that it won't work on 64-bit but I'm not sure.
I've made so many attempts and most of the time it disappears before you can read anything, but I think some of them end with "press any key". I'll try to recreate that and get back to you.
Can you delete the trackerdb files (should be four or five) and try running again from the batch file? If there are errors, I think I will only need to see the first few lines.

Yes I do. I think the problem here is I've done something really stupid that only a gorn could do. Meditate and put yourself into a gorn mentality and imagine what you would have done wrong.
