The US CVP force pool. The US has an abundance of strong CVP - even its weaker CVP are comparable to the mid- to high-rating CVP of other powers.

France's air unit force pool.

Unfortunately for the French, they probably won't be churning out planes until after France is liberated.

The US naval force pools are filled with powerful units, which the US won't be building for lack of time.

The US might just build some of the sealift & submarines.

The Free French have a pretty piss-poor sealift force pool.

The CW might also invest in some transports to make unit movement in the summer of '45 a little easier.

The CW army force pools. I have excluded territorials from both these and the French panel shown above.

(I should note that when the CW actually gets to building units, the Ethiopians will surely get scrapped. Although it would be cool, for a lark, to play an offensive chit on Selassie. Maybe in Italy in a 1939 game. Revenge is sweet...)

Allied Production Strategy

It's amazing how much easier it is to think of a production strategy when you're positively swimming in build points.

France
France has very limited production until France is liberated. Once that happens, the Allies will probably provide build point lending so as to enable the French to build some aircraft before time runs out.

Commonwealth
The Commonwealth will build 1 offensive chit per turn for the entire scenario. Remaining build points will be spend on air units (& pilots) and land units. Maybe transports.

United States
The US will build 2 offensive chits per turn, maybe 3 on some turns (such that these offensive chits will arrive in the summer of 1945). Remaining build points will be lent to the other Allies and spent on transports, air units (& pilots) and land units.

Partisans

The final step in set up is placing partisans.

Here is a partisan in China. It is sitting on the resource. While not a significant obstacle to dislodge, the Japanese don't really have land units that have the time to wander up and smack it down.

French partisans.

Unless they are destroyed by the German forces in the woods just off screen to the north, these partisans will migrate to the southern coast and allow the French to debark there.

Possibly the least useful partisans in the bunch: partisans appearing in the USSR.

These will probably be overrun by the Germans on their way out of the country.

One definite problem with trying to run the Allied juggernauts is that being spoilt for choice can quickly lead to decision fatigue.

It should be Free French not French.

In the game once France is conquered it becomes either Vichy France or Free France.

This statement is untrue any units that co-operate with the Free French could debark not just the French.

From §13.1 of RAW:
Partisans don’t control hexes. However, they can interrupt the benefits of controlling a hex they occupy. If a partisan is in a hex:
[...]
- units of the partisan’s nationality (only) can debark, or paradrop, into the hex without having to fight a notional unit; and
[...]

and
Partisans only co-operate with other units from their own country.

French units, and only French units (not even French-controlled minor country units), can debark into hexes containing French partisans.

Also, spare me the unhelpful, tiresome pedantry. [8|]

I spent most of my spare time last night either posting the force pool and related screenshots here or doing Allied naval moves. I still need to take screenshots of the results of the naval moves, and post them here. (And then do more of the impulse, and put away laundry.)

I'll just have to run the risk of being a bit sleep-deprived tomorrow to get through more of the impulse. [>:]

Great stuff man. I love seeing those funky late-game units like jets and such.
