India - 6 Aussie Div and 255 Armor Bde are across river at Howrah and will march across to Calcutta. 20th Indian Div is 2 days out from Calcutta, but she just arrived in SW India. She has very poor morale and only 30 experience. Like almost all the India troops, they will need to gain needed experience (most are 30 or worse) through battle.

If it looks like he's bringing the works, would it be sensible to keep a decent amount at Calcutta to slow him down while mostly concentrating on Bombay and Karachi defenses? Especially with the low fort situation?

It looks like he was planning an AV mix with some parts of OZ and India? Maybe since you knocked out the first OZ troops that will not be so easy, so India might be it.

Its a risky landing. With only 2 IDs(?) in the landing you could counter attack depending on what you have at Calcutta?

As you know, the forces in India at this time are not very good. Only the 17th Indian Div at Chittagong has experience levels close to 50. Most are at 30 or below including my three armor brigades. I have to rely on the 6th and 7th Aussie Div to stop him at a critical point. I still expect a secondary invasion someplace else (I think it will be Viza). Thus, I have troops spread out to cover this. If i attacked and failed with what good troops I do have, he could run over me here too quickly. I have to be Soviet here - trade land for time.

That is the plan. Bombay just went over fort 4 while Karachi is lagging behind at 3 with the need of more construction engineers. Thankfully, 2/3 of one American division have left Cape Town (CT) while another arrives at CT in 21 days, but will need PP. The only good thing was no troops are lost. The big sinking is the AP. In response, I will move the PBY and 2 AVD from Efate to Luganville and send two surviving xAKs and the slightly damaged DD with their remaining supplies there. Also, a small BF is ordered to march up to Koumac to support another PBY group.

Surprised to see this amount of troops committed here. After the shock wore off, I notice there are NO engineer units here. The 7th Aussie Div is already in Strategic Mode at Hyderabad and will go to Howrah before changing to Move Mode to march across the river into Calcutta. "IF" I can hold for a week to ten days and the second invasion is manageable, I think the Allies have a good chance.

China - Mr Kane's efforts seems to be around Changsha. I have F4 82% at Changsha with 2027 AV. However, one Chinese Corp (300 AV) is headed down to Pingsiang. At Pingsiang, I have 1122 AV with F3 70%. In between the two bases I have three Corps behind F4 with 646 AV. Some reinforcements from Chungking are headed this way. I've used 1117 Chinese Rifle Squads to date and have none in my pool.

As a result of these two days, I've order my troops across the river to Howrah. I don't know how Mr Kane can keep attacking with these results this bad for three straight turns. [&:] The only thing that would keep me going is the forts coming down each time. I will post a screenshot of my forces, but the two Aussie divisions are holding strong. What would I do? Hard to say. I'd wait one day to see what forces he lands at Vizagapatnam.
IJA divs: where are the 2nd, 4th & 21st? He also has 2 1/2 divs in Luzon. What else can he muster?

Do you think a retreat from Calcutta would be successful at this point? You can't outrun him and you 'd need 3-4 days of delay for most of your units to go to strat mode.
