The latest version of the Scenario Catalogue is now available at Gamesquad or the link below. Click on link, click on file, click on download.

Volume XXVIII of the Legacy project is now also available at Gamesquad and that is probably going to be the last one for the foreseeable future.

If there is a scenario included with the game, for instance The Road to Moscow part 1, but in your database it says there is an updated version available from "author", how does one go about obtaining the update? Make a post on this forum?

The Road to... series I can recommend are from the Doc, aka Robert Kunz.

Falcon1,

Normally it means getting the scenario from the Author's own website. Many modern designers post their scenarios in multiple locations though. It really only means where I got it from. Updates to the Road to Moscow Series can be found in the Matrix Scenario Design forum.

See here:

One of the things planned for the database it to include working links to all (well ... most) of the scenarios. If you cannot find a specific scenario, and you may notice that some are listed as beg, borrow, or steal, you can always send me a pm.

In your case, since you cannot log on to Gamesquad, will happily supply you with any of the legacy project scenarios as well.

Best wishes,
Steve

PS. Merry Christmas!

I was eventually able to log onto gamesquad by creating a new account. It looks like the legacy project is very impressive indeed. When I look at the database, do I assume that all these are playable in TOAW III? Because I was assuming up to now that the entry in the "engine" column determined which game I needed to play the scenario. So I got confused when I read that the legacy project converted version 3, but the engine shown in the database was not version 3. So I guess I was wrong, the the "engine" column just indicates the original game the scenario was built with?

Yes, The purpose of the Legacy Project is to preserve all the pre-TOAW III scenarios. The engine column in the database is the game it was designed for but everything in the Legacy Project volumes has been converted to TOAW III format. So everything in the catalogue can be played with TOAW III.

They are mechanical conversions though and they all require some work to bring them up to 3.4 standard. Exactly how much is extremely variable. For some, its nothing more than a 5 minute fix for others it will take longer. Conversion errors can include things like the wrong icon on units. Some border graphic problems on some maps. Some unit composition errors. Most of that sort of stuff is cosmetic and easily fixed. The event list will always need checking. Probably the worst part is re-balancing the scenario since it tends to take the most time. Modders can have a lot of fun.

There are some cracking scenarios in there though. Well worth a look.
