Difficulty levels

Post by vonRocko »

Can someone please elaborate on the differences in the difficulty levels? I'm playing on normal, but I want to increase that and know what is different.
Thanks

In single player mode, that dificulty mode marks your opponents' upgrade number, you always play with six upgrades so:
-EASY: 5 upgrades
-NORMAL: 6 upgrades
-HARD: 7 upgrades
-VERY HARD: 8 upgrades

In campaign the opponents' upgrade level depends on various factors (like circus category, campaign progression and individual leader experience) so the two difficulty modes (normal/epic) have different meaning:

-normal mode: you need to win three times at the Circus Maximus to successfully win the campaign, prices are generous, "eliminated" charioteers are recuperable.
-epic mode: you also need to have one of your aurigas being the overall leader, prices are adjusted,"eliminated" charioteers are killed.

Hope it helps, consult the ingame tutorial or the pdf manual for further information

Ok, I see. So easy, normal, hard and very hard do not apply to the campaign, only "normal"and "epic".
Thanks for the information. Epic is the way to go!
