Question about Carriers

Post by Ridinroun »

I'm early in a campaign as the allies. I have a couple carriers patrolling around Port Moresby and sent one to Sydney because I was low on sorties. They didn't rearm and reset. They took aircraft replacements but still low on sorties. Is PH the only place I can go to rearm my Carriers or get repairs done? Sydney's port size is 9. I thought that would mean I can get anything done at a port that size. Don't know what I'm missing here.

Jup, 9 size port is enough for anything, except reloading of yamato main guns :).
Your problem is realy simple - it may take 2 or more turns to fully restock CV TF, mainly if is here many ships hungry for fuel/ammo.

I haven't had any issues at PM. Is the supply good? Naval support may also be an issue. Make sure you have some there. GP

Sortie reload in port level 6 and torpedo in level 7. In this case, did you hit the rearm button with right click ?

What is the difference between right / left clicking on the Rearm / Refuel button ?

Yeah, I figured that out. Just me being impatient. Thanks for the reply.

In one of the later betas, left clicking is for refueling while right clicking is for ammo.

Get some AKEs and ADs where you need them. They'll solve all/most of those problems.

I hadn't heard that 18"shells could not be loaded in less than a level 10 port. Do AKEs make any difference in that case?

By the way, I think I saw somewhere that the Japanese could do some underway rearming. Any truth to that?

In reference to post #7:

Yes, Alfred I checked the manual. Even a level 8 port can reload 18"shells as long as there are 88 naval support points there (and sufficient supplies).
