HTTR System crash

I'm playing the Screaming Eagles scenario as Axis and I've started to get a "Command Ops has stopped working box", Please cancel,
on numerous occasions. I've noticed that the HTTR scenarios are somewhat bigger than the BFTB ones and it often takes over 5 minutes to load a scenario.

I'm using Windows 8.1 and have the latest updates installed.

Has anyone got any ideas?

You sure you have the HTTR update pack installed over version 279? The update pack should remove the long load times and probably stop the crashing. The update pack is in the members area under 'My Games' then in the slot for HTTR.
