What do the 3 numbers on the leaders refer to and ....

Post by sanderz »

..... for the Strategic rating what sort of chance do they have activating for a given number?

i couldn't see these numbers specifically referred to in the manual but i think its:

Strategic
Attack
Defense

I assume there is some sort of die roll that goes with the strategic rating for activation but have no idea what range this is. So, for some one with a SR of 5 what sort of % chance does he have of activating compared to say a leader with only a 2? I'm not expecting exact numbers here but any new player has no idea of what to expect in coming turns

thanks

PS - every other wargame manual i have has a pic of the counter with notes on what all the info means - simple and effective way of stopping newbs like me asking dumb questions - maybe i missed it

You're right in that it is Strategic/Offense/Defense.

I have no idea what percentages it means, though.

I *think* the activation is die roll <= activation number. Thus a SR5 leader would have activation odds of 5/6, and a SR2 leader would have odds of 2/6, or 1/3.

Note this if from playing other AGEOD games, but not this one.

sanch is right. So, place your non-strategic commanders in areas when you won't need them for attack -- just can't rely on them to be available.
