I could be wrong, and I do not have access to the rules at the moment, but I think you have to take all ports to conquer.
On the Allies scrap: I'm not sure I would have scrapped the CW TRS, the POL INF div, or even possibly the CW MOT.

Conflict with the unexpected: two qualities are indispensable; first, an intellect which, even in the midst of this obscurity, is not without some traces of inner light which lead to the truth; second, the courage to follow this faint light. KvC

Yes. Since Sardinia is a territory, not a minor country (no capital), you have to take both ports to conquer it. The failure to change control of Cagliari is still a bug, of course; I have posted a corrected saved game to your Tech support thread.ORIGINAL: Jagdtiger14

This bug has been fixed. However, do not use the most recent public beta; the new compiler introduced some new, absolutely game stopping bugs. These are being dealt with, but do not use the new public beta for anything but testing.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

At the end of turn, why Italy can't use oil to reorganize fighter in Sicily?

The bug can only have been fixed in the new beta as we are using 1.4.5.

RE: AllenK vs Mayhemizer III: Oil be back.
9.6.2. LIMITED SUPPLY ACROSS STRAITS
When this optional rule is in effect, the presence of enemy naval units in a sea area may prevent the use of the straits for tracing supply. Specifically, if the presence of enemy units prevents tracing an overseas supply path into the sea area that the straits cross, then: (1) resources cannot be transported across the straits, (2) units cannot trace supply across the straits, and (3) units cannot rail move across the straits. The effect of this rule is to make control of the associated sea area crucial when you want to use a straits.
I think I don't have to trace route from oil to unit?

I thought oil dependent units still had to be able to trace a supply path back to an oil source. It's unlimited in length but still needs a path. In this case it would be blocked.

Then it is OK.
Edit: RAW: ...you must be able to trace a path from the unit to the oil resource.

RE: AllenK vs Mayhemizer III: Oil be back.
Note that because of a rules clarification by ADG that I profoundly disagree with, limited oversees supply and limited supply across straits interact in very, very nasty ways. In particular, the Axis can not reorganize oil dependent units in Sicily unless they have a CP, TRS, or AMPH in the Italian Coast.
If future games, I will not play with the limited supply across straits optional rule, but impose a house rule allowing the enemy to block resources across straits and rail movement across straits, both of which are under the control of the player.
Let me emphasize that this is not a bug in MWiF; MWiF is faithfully implementing an official ruling from ADG. I just think that ruling is completely wrongheaded.

Initiative: Axis 4, Allies 8. No re-roll. Allies choose to go first.
On a 1, the weather is fine everywhere - look out France!
USSR declares war on Japan and calls out reserves. It just about makes the centre pages in the US (9 rolled, 1 chit removed).

JT14,
Those weren't scrapped. The top line is those units available for scrapping but not yet selected.

I'm sorry Allen, you are correct. Then I'll only complain about the CV Glorious[:D]

RE: AllenK vs Mayhemizer III: Oil be back.
Yes, I can understand that being debatable. So far though I've found difficulty in equipping the CW CV's with planes due to competing spend pressures in the early war and there are more CV's on the way. If I'm going to build CV's from scratch, I want the modern 6-5 move, 3 capacity ones, not Glorious back in the Force pool.
Perhaps if not playing with CVP's but I still wouldn't want to be drawing it as a new build over one of the better ones.

Have to agree about the limited supply rule. Makes expansion very difficult, especially with the oil rules you are playing. My poor head wouldn't be able to cope [:D]
Anyway looking forward to more of this AAR soon

France & China Land, rest combined.
2 Russian subs sail to china Sea.
CW sends CA with 2nd Inf Div from Cape town to West Med 1-box. Trans sails from Gib to East Med 2-box and loads Wavell.
US sends 3 CV's from West to East Coast.
Only 1 area available for naval combat: China Sea.
Searches: Allies 2, Axis 3.
5 surprise points used to increase damage. Do Japs wish to stay?

Both sides elect to stay and fight but the Russian subs decide to stay on the bottom, so combat ends.
