Vietnam

Post by SwampYankee68 »

A while back we were discussing new games using the engine, and there was some discussion about a game set during the US / Vietnam conflict. Is that dea or have you guys put any more thought into that. There is a huge dearth of wargames set in that conflict, and I was pretty excited to see the idea being discussed...

Still on the table. We need to get the new game running with Southern Storm. After that we can move to the 250m version of things and look at Vietnam and others areas.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

That's part of the WW2 map size we are looking to create. A much reduced ranges for tank guns and much more importance put on infantry held rifle/MG fire.

OK.

My un-requested 2 cents:

If there will be internal discussions as to which conflict to design a game on first, I'll point out that I have about 10 wargames set in WWII on my PC at present, and one (Tiller's Squad Battles) set in Vietnam. I think you'd do better with a game set on the latter conflict.

If you must do WWII first, the pacific theater is very much under-represented.
