Indeed.

Right I am flying solo at the moment and the footie is on tonight. I hope to get the naval moves sorted this evening (but even if I do it will be late) - if not, I will have to finish off tomorrow.

Gents

What is the status of the Libyan Synth Plant? When does the possibility of attacking it start?

I think Italy uses it to get units organized (if possible or will be compensated) before other synth plant comes to play. After that Libyan synth plant goes to idle or is destroyed if Allies advance there. So that plant should not be bombed. And there is no need to capture it in means of getting oil to Allies.

Mar/Apr 1941
Impulse: 2

Land: China
Combined: USSR, USA, CW
Naval: France

- No Port Attack
- No Naval Air

Naval moves - CW

1. The reconstituted Force H sails from Gibraltar. Admiral Blagrove wants to leave some ships behind but Gibraltar is getting too hot for that. He takes up station in the Western Mediterranean. I said no to interception – it’s obvious these guys are staying put (2-box).

Force H
CV - Eagle (Nimrod), Glorious (Swordfish)
BB – Valiant, Nelson (Flagship Admiral Blagrove), Revenge, Queen Elizabeth, Barham
CA – London, Cornwall
CL – Birmingham (loaded with the ‘Blue’ Infantry Division).

2. Admiral Fraser puts to sea and heads for the Bay of Biscay (3-box)

Biscay Force
CV- Hermes (Gladiator)
BB – Resolution, Royal Oak (Flagship Admiral Fraser)
CA – Sussex, Java (NL)

Naval moves - French

The French put their Eastern Mediterranean Fleet to sea off the Syrian coast (3-box)

Eastern Mediterranean Fleet
BB – Strasbourg (Admiral Gensoul)
CA – Algerie, Lamotte-Picquet

A submarine squadron heads for the Italian Coast (2-box)

Mar/Apr 1941
Impulse: 2

To the dismay of Admiral Blagrove he is ordered by the Admiralty NOT to try and interdict Italian convoys. He has to get the Spanish Blue Division to Gibraltar. The British have given up a naval impulse for this – and if he got a 1-10 result and the unit was lost, then it would all be for nothing.

Do the Italians wish to initiate combat in the Western Mediterranean?

From what I can see the Axis still have two Italian 4-strength fighters and the SM81. The Germans have an He-115C and 5 and 4-strength (Hungarian) fighters.

Ooooh I got all excited when I saw the 10, but sadly for the Allies they threw a 4 so no combat in the Western Mediterranean.

No Strategic Bombing.

I will consider Ground Strikes or not on my way to work... [:)]

Desperate times call for desperate measures. The Blenheims of the Advanced Air Striking Force (No.62 Squadron) are ordered to attack German positions northwest of Gibraltar.

The Germans and Hungarians have fighter squadrons on hand. Will they fly? There are no allied land based air in range.

The air units fight an inconclusive duel (two x 8 thrown) but, importantly for the Axis, the Hungarians see off the fighter bombers.

The Soviets send an AT unit to the Kiev from Bessarabia.

Land Movement

The Soviets continue to pull back from their newly acquired territory, while in the north Kaunas is reinforced.

The ChiComms limit themselves to the 5th Garrison Army taking up position on the south bank of the Wei Ho at the foot of the mountains.
