RE: Off to see the lizard.....
I want to apologize for any part I played in this fiasco. I never thought it would end like this.
RE: Off to see the lizard.....
Don't apologize....I should have known better. [:(]

I've just found out that apparently Geoff and I have a "plan". This is news to me, as I haven't had any communications in a week from Geoff. And I learned of this by reading his AAR.
As per post 719 in the Gorn Supremacy thread. I'm sorry to have taken someone's post at their word [8|].

Steve,
You should not have known better, you are not a sucker. He isn't up to speed. Some people just plain live in their own time zone with no malus intended, but it sure gets hard on those around them.
Keep your chin up. [8D]

Well said.

OK. Geoff is saying that his pollen medication is making him spacey. That I can believe. We will see if he feels better in a couple of days and then we will TALK. No more cryptic notes or emails. No more miscommunications (especially those where I'm supposed to have said something that I haven't). We'll try it one more time.
The 1st thing I'm going to ask him is if he's related to a guy who used to hang out on the forum who was from Wisconsin , went to community college, lived in his parents basement and typed in some weird form of texting........[:)][:)]

OK. Geoff called me and we had a very brief talk (as we both have laryngitis , he from his pollen allergy and me from some kind of flu/cold/bug). We are still on the test phase , trying to see if we can get synched up on as basic stock game. We are still discussing any beta additions. I'll post any additional information as it becomes available. [:)][:)]

Best of good fortune and I hope you have a fun war.

A quick bump to keep this off of page 2. I see the Gorn is doing his turn 1 now. It appears that there will be a game after all.
RE: Off to see the lizard.....
Thanks Bill. I see he has a "serious" AAR now. So let's see how long before I finally see a turn. He's still not listening to me about updates or Betas, so I guess this will be a straight basic stock game. If I had a dog that ignored me as much as he does me , I'd be tempted to shoot it! I'll be following this side on this PBM. I enjoy watching the veins pop out on the side of your neck. [:'(] [:D]

Me too. I mean-I'll also be following this side of the PBEM. Assuming there is a 'P' aspect (one of these days) to the BEM. [:D]ORIGINAL: witpqs

RE: Off to see the lizard.....
Steve is going to Play against a Bug Eyed Monster? At least we hope there is some play involved.
RE: Off to see the lizard.....
Here's a question for my friends out there. Normally , when I say "no house rules" , it's because I dislike how many people have HR lists longer than my bi-weekly grocery list. I can't keep track of them without referring to a "cheat sheet" (several pages long) before during and after every turn. I've always just gone on the "if it feels gamey , then don't do it" principal. Most of my opponents have never given be cause to regret this. But.........
Having recently read of several opening move gambits.....like "CV hunting" or "Hunting the Saratoga at San Diego" or things like this , especially where the Japanese get the "1st turn teleportation". This makes me nervous. This game is a "grudge match" with a person I've never played against....or really know.
I know how to avoid the CV hunting.....I ALWAYS send Enterprise and Lexington (and every other ship that I can) as far away and in the opposite direction from the KB as possible.
If the KB "disappears" IMMEDIATELY after PH , I assume he's headed east , and evacuate my west coast ports and bring as many aircraft to west coast as I can (to attrite his INJ pilots).
But if there are truly NO RULES , does that mean that I can react? Say...set my fighters to 100% CAP? Sorte my Subs and PT's to meet his attacks? For that matter , can I sorte the rest of my ships out of harbor to run? I usually disband Force "Z" and the British CL's as I don't want them going north , and if a TF is in port, you'd normally disband it (to give part of the crew liberty if nothing else). I also normally park Houston and Boise (and any other unescorted CA/CL's of any nation) till I can vector some DD's to them and give them some kind of ASW protection.
I normally would ground my bombers , or more likely train them. In fact normally I have my fighters on 100% TRAIN. But somehow this game feels a little more different. More adversarial.
So where are my limits? Any suggestions are as always welcome. Even though this feels more like a moral question than a strategic or tactical (Those will come soon...I've got several pages of questions to ask. But 1st I need to define my limits and boundaries). Thanks guys! [&o][&o]
