Refit and Victories

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Refit and Victories

Post by BK6583 »

Couldn't any specific references in the manual. With WiTE, a unit on refit at least 10 hexes from the front (and of course in supply and in command) could ever so slowly increase its experience. Is this the same for WiTW? In WiTE, accumulated victories would ever so slowly increase certain command ratings of leaders. Again, is this the same for WiTW?

rule 9.3.1 is your friend for the first question, but the key is: "Ground elements can train up to the morale level of their parent unit (9.1). Ground elements that have an experience level lower than their unit’s morale will increase their experience at least one point per turn"

11.2.6 answers the second one ... bu there are caps as: "Administrative, initiative, mech, infantry, and air ratings can only be increased if they are currently less than six ... Political and morale ratings can only be increased if they are currently less than eight."

Don't normally answer by saying 'read the manual' as most times its either not clear, a bit hard to find, or a matter of how to interpret the rules. But in this case, genuinely the answers are in there and pretty clearly signposted [;)]

Well first, I'll take the hit and will definitely 'look' harder before I ask in future. Second, thank you for answering the post anyway!
