The numerical date is set in the American M/D/Y format
In TOAW III it was possible to change that into the rest-of-the-world D/M/Y format in 'EnglishGameText.xml' ...
Is this still the case under TOAW IV?

Yes, I should fix that sometime, do you remember how to generate the gametext.xml file? The patch adds a couple more strings, so you'll have to regenerate it after the patch.

I may need a step-by-step for that... I did open the gametext.xml in notepad++ to have a look at it ...that shows it's an obsolete version 3.0.0.17

NewGamesText.xml you need to check. Alternatively, check the EnglishLanguage.xml as well (see screenshot). Discard the version stuff... somee minor things didn't change.

The best thing to do is to generate a NewGameText.xml file by hitting F11. Then rename it to GameText.XML.

Got it! Thanks gentlemen! But the change doesn't seem permanent although I saved it after switching from MDY to DMY
