Does anyone know of a scenario dealing with the Franco-Prussian war for TOAW iV?

Did you check the list of Legacy scenarios? The link to them is around here somewhere.

I found this one for TOAW III....do I just open it and play or do I have to do something to it in order to run it in TOAW IV?

Resolved fast anyone else is interested:

“If you have a scenario in III that is not included in IV (perhaps one you grabbed from another site, etc), open IV Editor---> Open Scenario---> go to your C Drive in the dropdown
--->Matrix Games--->TOAWIII--->Scenarios---> open the III scenario of interest. It will open in the IV Editor. Save the game in an appropriate IV Scenario folder. ”

That's the procedure. Could you dump the scenario here for us, too? Just .ZIP it. Perhaps... I can challenge some Frenchies here ;)

In Rugged defense there are actually 2 scenarios for the Franco-Prussian War

http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenarii/list_scenario.php?Name=franco-prussian

The one for TOAW3 includes the XIX century database, and it can be used to run the one for TOAW-COW following the instructions. At least it works in TOAW III, still haven't bought TOAW IV.

Well, I got one to work (1870 XIX) but the other one 1870-71 keeps telling me I’m “using the wrong EQP file”

Here’s the deal...I want to do my part for the cause and all that, but I haven’t ever played TOAW before 1 week ago and am pretty computer illiterate. The links are there. Someone with more knowledge of editing and scenarios may want to put them together and post. I’m not sure I’d be posting a functional and accurate scenario

Edit. Yeah, I screwed it up. Apparently my 1870 Prussian infantry is equipped with a type 59 Chinese tank

Edit: I’ve tried everything and made sure I download the 19th century database. Now Matter which Sce file I open or how I do it, when I save it in the TOAW4 file, my units have SMG squads, tanks and trucks

make a copy of the 19th century.eqp file and rename that to the scenario you wanna use it for... Put renamed eqp file in a folder with the same name... place that folder in the Graphics Override folder.. Open scenario in editor and save.. That should do the trick..

Ok. What do you mean by “rename the equipment file to the scenario”? I think there is an EQP file already included in the scenario so I will rename the new one downloaded the same as that one and delete. There is a folder containing all sorts of files for one of the scenarios and not the others and I don’t see an”graphics override folder”. Like I said, I’m computer illiterate and anything more complex than “download file And put in here” inevitably fails.

I’ll give it a shot but if someone with more experience wit these scenarios does it first, that would be a blessing

OK, I will give you an example, with screenshot...As you know, some scenarios use a modded .EQP, graphic files, etc. They all go together in GraphicsOverride. The .EQP file, in order to be 'linked' to the scenario in question needs to have the same name. So, FitE2.SCE needs to get the info about it's equipment from FitE2.EQP.

Question: What's the name of the Franco-Prussian War .SCE file? Let's say it's Franco-Prussian-War.SCE, then the .EQP file should be Franco-Prussian-War.EQP; and being dumped into a folder Franco-Prussian-War in the GraphicsOverride folder. I am more than willing to help, but please dump the XIX century .EQP and the scenario into the cloud somewhere :)

I’m at work can’t cant upload. The links to the scenarios are above .
there are two. A scenario made in 2004 references this special equipment file:

http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenar ... n-War-1870

Then there is a scenario made in 2010 which doesn’t mention a seperate download. So I’m not sure if the 2010 scenario is supposed to use that EQP file.
I’m. It sure why all that stuff above isn’t already done In the scenario prior to uploading it but Both have messed up equipment though. This weekend I will give it a shot again with the instructions above

Thanks guys

Bugger, I don't have my old login for Rugged Defense anymore. Anybody here got it? If so, dump the .SCE here and I will have a look, peeps.

Here are the files - You know the drill, peeps.

.SCE and .DOC to be dumped into \Documents\My Games\The Operational Art of War IV\Scenarios\Pre WW I, the folder into Documents\My Games\The Operational Art of War IV\Graphics Override

Have fun defeating the Frenchies or, if you get lucky, prevent Germany being unified under Kaiser Wilhelm I. ;)

Thank you!
:D Now you feel free to create a 'War of 1812' scenario, eh? Glad to see somebody from Berlin, ON (before they dastardly changed it to Kitchener, ON in 1917?!).
So, let's do it! We owe it to Major General Isaac Brock!!!

Hurrah!
