Question about the database editor

Post by pz501 »

I can modify a US M60A1 Tank Company to have three rather than two 5 tank platoons (15 tanks total vs 10 to show the "H-Series" TO&E for a "pure" Company) when I change the original entry with no problem at all, and it shows up in the selection menu when building a scenario.

However, if I copy the original and then paste it into a new slot (1270 is the first empty one) and make the same edit, it will not appear as a selection. Also, if I do a completely manual edit, it still will not appear as selectable.

My question is this: Is there a hard limit to the number of entries allowed for formations within the database? Right now it looks as if nothing beyond 1269 is being read.

Did you add your newly created formation to the factions formations? Otherwise the game obviously wouldn't show it because it has no idea which faction or what time period it is for.

I shall only note that (-) companies are there for a reason: in the game the huge formations move slowly and it can become a total mess when they meet impassable terrain or traffic jams. In real life the large companies do much of the maneuvering at the platoon level.
