What to do about Wau

Post by Mundy »

Hopefully this hasn't been asked too many times before...

What's some good advice on what to do with the boys on Wau? Keeping it supplied gets a bit tough on the C-47's. I hate to leave them rot so far away.

Thanks.

have a look at my AAR (in the AAR area obviously) where I debated what to do with the Kanga lads. Some good and not so good ideaas floated there.

AAR is called: Herbie goes bananas - the pertinant info is at the beginning.

As the allies, I am all for abandoning Wau as rapidly as possible. It is not easy to supply, even if you control PM. The airfield there can't be developed above level 3, and you would have to be up against a pretty distracted or poor Japanese player to be able to use Wau as a springboard from which to take Lae.

Also, leaving Wau around or taking the surrounding airfields also leaves the Japanse with a great place to train their replacement pilots. All they have to do is fly airfield/ground attack missions and sweeps over Wau.
