Commander Napoleon at War - stuck at DOS screen

Hi, the game does not load on my Win 10 machine and gets stuck at this DOS window. Can you fathom it out and tell me how I can fix this to get the game running? Anxious to conquer the known world and the clock is ticking.

that's a java error message, so you will need to install java on your pc maybe? if you already haven't got it running

without it, it won't work, as by default java is not installed on windows 10, same as quite a few older programs, which many older games need
