Transit to Pacific?

I have moved a ship from the east through Panama but cannot access the Pacific coast side of the map. I've moved the unit to the edge of the screen, to the text where it says 1 move and nothing. There is no mention in the manual how this is done either.

Also, how do you attack Madagascar? I declared war on Vichy - I assume it belongs to them, but it doesn't say - and it won't let me attack.

You have to place the units in the light blue shaded hexes. At the end of the turn you will get a message saying they have moved to the Pacific where they will appear next turn.
Same works if you want to move your units from the Pacific, but in the Pacific designated hexes.

Ah, thank you! I think it's map mod that's the problem as the blue hexes don't show up.

Edit: Yes, that was the problem. I've since amended the mod so that these and other hexes show up.

You do need to declare war on Madagascar to be able to attack it. It used to be really hard to take Madagascar during beta testing. But now the minor Capitol entrenching maximum has been reduced (it was 6) and there is a special supply restriction just for Madagascar. It is fairly easy to liberate it now, as it should be.

IIRC in the new patch notes they changed that supply script; it used to fire every turn (keeping them out of supply), I believe it only fires once now. Haven't played but just saw it in the patch notes.

Thanks. Found it now. I wasn't expecting to see Madagascar listed between Argentina and Bolivia.
