AK HQs failed to Appear

Post by nnason »

When I accepted the AK all units appeared except the HQs. Is this a bug or WaD? Supply pic attached.

It could have been because there was no space for it to arrive as sometimes when this happens a few units might not be able to arrive etc. This is something we have improved in Strategic Command World at War as the Afrika Korps is handled a bit differently there.

There was plenty of space was a clear spot S of Tripoli. Could there be a supply issue? Version 1.15

Do you happen to have a saved turn from before the DAK arrived?

When Noah told me about it my first thought was that its either due to space or supply. Does DAK need spaces surrounding cities or any axis hex in Libya will do? Because most hexes available around the two remaining axis cities in Afrika were occupied when DAK arrived. Certaintly not enough for the 8 units of DAK.

There were 2 axis cities in Africa. Tripoly and Sirte.

Before the DAK event I had 1 unit in hex west of Tripoli and 1 unit east of Sirte. Tripoli had an Axis unit in the city & either 1 or 2 in the 3 surrounding hexes that was in my visibility range. Tripoli supply was 1 or 0.
Sirte had 1 axis unit in the city and 1 allied in the hex east of it.

The way the game engine handles this, you would need spaces around the available cities that are connected to the arrival of the DAK unit events. Supply should not make a difference but space definitely does and would result in not all of the units arriving.

It's rare but it can happen and this is why we've implemented it differently in the new World at War game to avoid this type of situation in game.

Hubert,
Thanks for your working this issue. As always, the developer support for the SC series is great.

Glad there is a fix in WaW.

I would note that there was an empty space immediately south of Tripoli.
