Delay Orders

Post by Mark Breed »

It is my understanding that formations with orders of Delay will not be eligible for command (movement) until an event triggers them.

I have a formation, 4th US Army, with Delay orders at the start of my scenario. However, initial playtesting results indicate that it can be moved on the very first turn. My event orders indicate that this should not be the case until the sixth turn:

Event: 7, Debug: releases from delay status
Trigger turn: 6 (May 12th, 1927).
Effect: Form'n orders (USA 4th US Army), Manual/Limit Losses.

Do I need an event that places it on delay even though the Formation Report starts with it in that status?

Thank you,
Mark

You've got it set to activate on turn 1. Change that to the turn you actually want it to activate on.

Be aware that enemy movement next to any unit of the delayed formation will activate it as well. Only Garrison deployment is safe from that. Another consideration.

Am I correct in assuming that because the delay order has the activation turn set to release it the Formation Report, you cannot have an event to set a variable release of the delay order?

Thank you,
