Attacking M4's...

Post by Orzel Bialy »

Ok, I've read posts pertaining to how to best take on Tigers...why is it that no one is worried about how best to take out M4's? Image

Personally I prefer to have my light truck units drive up and machine gun them into suppression...forcing the crew to bail. lol

Any other suggestions out there? Image

On a serious note what's up with the M-4E8. In ver 7.1?

I find myself BOUNCING 88m rounds off the front armor with great regularity (3 or 4 shots in a row) at a range of 25 to 30 hexes at level or even +1 height advantage. Then the 76mm APCR round turns around and damages or even penatrates my armor at the same range.

I can maybe understand the gun but the front armor being that good on a Sherman ?

Come on

I saw a armor chart for a E8 once, and according to it a 88 could bounce off if it hit the left or right corners of the front hull. Maybe you're just getting unlucky.

No, that is pretty much the way it is in the game. A major annoyance. It should not happen as often as it does. I have even been running Easy 8's and said to myself, "How the heck did I live thru that?!?".

But how do you deal with their main AT weapon?
AmmoSgt wrote: Someone a little up this thread made mention of a single M4 v 5 Tigers .. The simple truth is the main AT weapon on the M4 is a radio connected to a cab rank of P-47's and a Bn of 155 arty. All the M4 has to do is stay out of line of sight.

Tickling them with a feather duster works pretty well.
