@vilcum: The rails are much easier to see now and the cities are looking better too. The names are still a problem and i think I agree with you that changing the color would be the solution. Maybe the devs can chip in on if that is possible.

I must say, I really like the way jisons map dealt with city and river names. Very easy to read and fits right in with the map. The current alternatives are not very appealing, but that is ofc not your fault. Keep up the great work!

@vilcum: great!

but the name of the river are too light, often quite invisible... and rivers are important!

thanks

One small bit of nitpicking: where lines cross they are not connecting now, which looks a bit off.

good sight sir!, thanks for comenting, I gives another round to all lines to lessen that effect, it will appear sometimes but much less than in first version (test included)

I finished mountains, now they show snow when appropiate -in fact the stock version only in ls/sn/Bl and the brown in any other weather)

Painted an alternative ferry, and I show you here both of them side to side to ask your oppinion

On the other hand I will left fonts untouched, hoping for it being colour modifiable sometime in the future, feel free of trying yourselves with the font of your choosing for cityes and rivers

The map is getting better now with the lumberjack job. Still, the text is hard to read. When looking at the Pretty Trees mod the forest colors are much more pale and the text is easy to read. Maybe experimenting doing similar.

In fact , as the forest and woods of this map uses the Tiles of Overkill´s prettytrees you can install both mods at same time (prettytrees over this one) and as you say, names are readed much better. the result is too pale for my liking during clear time but it works asa you can see in the picture on the right

Rainmap v 1.0 released

I feel comfortable with the current state of the map as to share with you all again

Links and notes updated on first post.

I will keep work on it specially for bugs in individual tiles/weather conditions, other posible future additions are

- coastline /coastal waters modification
- alternative trees model colour for better names display.

As for the names , there is little I can do, it seems you cannot change font COLOR (this map would really need white/clear fonts)...

Incorrect - just create a new Text Profile and change the colours allocated to it. You can set the colour by zoom level, transparency by zoom and outline.

vilcum, could you please upload a version with the trees on the right image? I do not like these high contrast trees on the left. Thanks for this nice looking map!

Splendid work - and I know just how much effort is involved in fixing the rail lines. I prefer the muted trees on the right - but as you say, that's an option that just needs an install of standard Pretty Trees.

To be really nitpicky, I'd remove or tone down the birders on minor rivers - but there is a point where one has to say that's it, if you want further changes do them yourselves!

Thanks

Thank you vilcum for the mod which looks very beautiful! I want to try but could not download it. Is the link or setting in order?

[Edit: I can download the mod with the workaround suggested by Nerconiglio, i.e. copy and paste the link in a new tab.]

The same for me, but if I copy and then paste the full link in a new tab, it works.

I got some feedback from RedLancer regarding the use of a different font color:
It's easy to change the colour - just create a new profile for the font with a different colour.

Edit: Ah, just noticed his feedback a few posts above. Anyway, it should be doable to use another color than black.

Just want to give a big thank you to vilcum for all of his hard work. You've turned a very good game with sub-par map graphics in a very good game with excellent map graphics (just my opinion). People have been trying for years now (ever since War in the West was published) to modify the map tiles with varying degrees of success, but you've managed a breakthrough. As an added bonus, I've discovered that this mod is 99% compatible with War in The West map as well. Very well done sir!

Now all we need is a manual covering the game editor, revealing all of it's nuances and new features added since WiTW. I understand it's planned, and maybe even being worked on now, so there's even more to look forward to.
