Taking Australia

Post by HardLuckYetAgain »

Taking Australia seems to have happened in a few AAR's. Even talk about knocking out India early as an alternative. Is this the case in every game being easy to do? I didn't buy the Europe version of this game because of the AAR's I read on the forums. Can someone tell me it is or is not the case and the percentage chance of this happening.

Thank you in advance.

What did you read that prevent you to buy Warplan Europe?
The game has very few bugs now. There is a good balance between Axis and Allies.

And most of all, it is fun to play.

To answer your initial question, Warplan Pacific (WPP) is only at its third patch. It has the advantage to share the same engine with Warplan Europe (WPE). As such, all the bugs solved in WPE are solved in WPP. Also WPP has few more features than WPE, intel for example.

Right now, we are at the stage where Alvaro, the developer, is working on balance between Axis and Allies.
Players have found how to optimize the usage of garrison to invade everywhere.

The goal of the next patch is to limit or eradicate all exploits found to date.
Tests are still on going but taking Australia or India should be much more difficult than before.

Game support is very good. I am sure the right balance will be found.

It sounds like he meant to say he did not buy the Pacific version...since the AARs of capturing Australia are in that version not the European version.

Different skill levels of different players. It takes a long time to properly balance games. Strategic Command 3 is still balancing small aspects of their game. I know I am friends with Hubert.

WPE is in pretty good shape. I have a constant mirror game with a good player that does all the exploits vs me so i can see what is happening and how to adjust. So I play my own game for balance against another good player.

As for Australia.... It is not that easy to take out. My Australia got invaded and it is late 1942. I am kicking him back. India is also invaded but again he is stopped. So it depends on player skills.

WP series is a serious wargame that involves deep strategic thinking. Even I learn new things all the time and it's my game.

So it is up to you. The multiplayer aspect is really good. You will find some bad players, good player, and medium players. The new WPP patch will come out pretty soon with some dynamic changes coming.

I would be in the bad player category. I am new and still learning the game. I really like the flow of the game and trust the better players will iron out the kinks.

Thank you for the feedback. I was looking at the Pacific AAR's and two of the AAR's had Japan taking Australia really quick in the game. Kind of got turned off at the speed of the takeover. Maybe it was just skill of the players being different but just seeing that turned me off. But that is just me for the Pacific version. Sorry above I said Europe version which I really did not look at.

Correct. My mind said one thing and my fingers typed something totally different. I think I will fire them. Thank you for clarifying for me :)

We all start there at the beginning and it is one step in front of the other after that. :)

Right now I am in a mirror WPP game. My opponent is being VERY aggressive as Japan. I am being very defensive.

This is to test out both strategies to see how they work.
