Start of Turn 2
As you can clearly see, all pockets held, and the entire Red Army is, as we speak, being destroyed in the border regions. Millions of enemy troops have already surrendered. We just have some minor mopping-up operations left, and we are on pace to arrive in Leningrad, Moscow, and Rostov within another few weeks.
Close up of the south:
Nowhere is our victory greater than in the south. Although NKVD propagandists have claimed some successes for the Red Army there, these are lies and fabrications, and do not affect the determination of the German soldier.
Soviet propagandists even went so far as to fabricate and disseminate false battle reports, claiming some victories against Panzer regiments. They also claimed that Fedlmarschall Bread, commander of Army Group South, put his units next to the Romanian border in regiments rather than one division, and that even if he did, he not attach support units to the crucial two Panzer regiments that were holding the rail closed that could have helped them to hold, such as for example the RFSS brigade. But these are all lies.

Stepping out of character for a moment -
In seriousness, apparently in the new patch it seems easier to counterattack regiments very early on. Regiments were vulnerable before, yes, but I don't think they normally would have lost like this at least on turn 1. Maybe this is another aspect of weak units not being as good in the new patch.
You would typically start to see regiments being successfully counterattacked at least a bit later on, say turn 3 or so. I don't think I ever saw 3 successful Soviet counterattacks on 3 Panzer regiments in turn 1 before in previous patch AARs. Although one of them took two attacks (the first one being a hasty, presumably by a unit that lacked the MP to do a deliberate attack), all 3 Panzer regiments that were attacked were defeated, a very good success ratio for the Soviets so early on.
