setting up pbem game

Post by John B. »

Hello, I'm trying to set up a pbem game with a password and for some reason, my anticipated opponent can't see it so we can't start the game. We've played pbem before so I think the system is ok and if I post it as public w/ no password someone else jumps on it. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi John

Can you both share screenshots of the challenges that you do see, i.e. can you both see exactly the same set of challenges?

I wonder if one of you has a different version to the other, so it'll be best to make sure you've both fully updated.

I can see your challenge, and my version is 1.06.02.

It'll be interesting to know what your opponent can see.

Bill,

Here is what my opponent can see. Now, in the interim I did just check my PBEM site and someone else had accepted my challenge. I'm not sure how they do that when I have a password. Are we doing something wrong or is there someway I can send a pbem challenge to a specific person?

John

and now that I look at it I see my challenge was in the upper left. I wonder why he could not see it since this is the screen shot from his computer.

Yes, if he can see it there then he should have been able to join. Try issuing another.

As to how someone managed to accept your challenge, I can only think that they knew or guessed your password.
