Hi new here.....Hi this has got to be the best operational game I've played

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

I just want to say thanks for this great game. I've played war games since 1987 and this is by far the best operational game I have played. I know lots of guys that are into TOAW and KP just blows that game away. I am already looking forward to the new battles that are to come out. I also read that SSG is making a whole Russian theater based on this game engine....man thats awesome. :)

We need to flood "The Wargmers Scenario Archive" with battles from the KP engine and get all TOAW fans to upgrade to a much better engine.

Yes it's a pretty decent game system isn't it :-)

A new scenario will be appearing in the patch, which is a conversion of the "Race to the Meuse" scenario from TAO2, as well as an updated Steve Ford short KP scenario and an updated Wiking Whiteout scenario.

The scenario editor in KP has a reasonably steep learning curve but if you put in a solid evening or two you will get the hang of it. Excellent tutorials for the KP editor by Rob Gjessing at Run5 .

Next year's Battles in Normandy release will sport a more user friendly and intuitive editor (among other new features), so I am hoping this will get some more user-made scenarios flowing through.

I know of about 6 or so different scenarios that are currently being developed by various people.. they are all at various stages of development.. some very close to making a release whilst others still a way off.. but the good news is yes, fans are making scenarios for the game..

It is even possible to port other wargames over to this engine, like some TOAW scenarios.. and even some scenarios from older games..
Isn't that bizarre?

Difficult to say what the size will be until Matrix release it via their true update system.

I am suspecting it will be well over 5MB however.

If you are worried about downloading large files due to dialup disconnects etc, I would be happy to mirror the patch here in Oz on a fast server if SSG and Matrix have no objections.
