Editor AAR

Post by Magpius »

Could some bright spark make a small basic DAR/ AAR using the scenario editor.
Small square island, 2 countries, and very basic AI.
I'd love to make a Iwo Jima or New Guinea Scenario, but am struggling to use the editor.
I've made an island with terrain, control, resources, logistics etc, but can see no way of actually adding units.
(and sorry this isn't me volunteering to blunder through an AAR of my own).[:)]

If one already exists, here or Warplan Europe, please let me know; there are plenty of disparate questions out there, but it would be good to have them consolidated in a thread we could all follow, and it may encourage more scenarios to appear here.
Thanks

In the ..\Matrix Games\WarPlan Pacific Beta\Manuals directory, there is something called Scenario Modding and Creation.pdf.
It is a good start even if it has not all the answers.
Chancellor Gorkon to Captain James T. Kirk:
You don't trust me, do you? I don't blame you. If there is to be a brave new world, our generation is going to have the hardest time living in it.

I used it initially but it's not the easiest to follow.
Still can't see how to add units...
(and I gotta say I like your Invasion of Denmark videos on youtube, even if it was only 2 turns worth).

[Found unit build]
a bit like...
“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

Have you checked ago1000's videos?

He is adding some units after minute 28 in this video. I guess he will comment to your post.

Adding units to the map

Units toggle ON -> Country -> select the country -> Unit Build -> select unit and set the stats -> left click where you want it placed and viola unit on map.
