Repair of own ships in space ?

Post by R_TEAM »

I have this many times - found abandoned ancient or not so ancient ships in space ....
get an advice to send an constructions ship to repair it, or set the order self ...
Fine ...
But --- i cant doing this for "my" ships ???
Have an ship .. reactor destroyed .. so no hyperspeed (dont ask me exactly why - it simply dont "jump") .. only snail underlight speed ...
It is simply going nowear ....
Would be nice (ans simply - it is my own tech) to repair it with an construction ship ...
But no option .... cant make this happen ....
Do i things wrong ? - or is this not implemented ??

I thought I was able to do it. I’m not at my computer right now (iPad) but this is what I remember

Have the disabled ship visible on the map. Zoomed in may help.
Go to the construction ships screen.
Select a construction ship
Right click and hold on the disabled ship until the pop up menu appears. There should be a choice there. It may say build instead of repair. I know it says building later while it is happening.

Hope this helps.
Bridge is the best wargame going .. Where else can you find a tournament every weekend?

Thing is, there is a difference between a ship having the DISABLED status and the ship being effectively stranded. Ships with disabled status (engines destroyed) can be manually repaired and will be repaired by automated constructors. Ships will also repair themselves at different speeds depending on technology level. But as the OP is saying, there are situations where one would want to repair ships that are nut fully disabled but in a very bad state, with critical components destroyed and unable to catch up with the rest of the fleet. Construction ships should be able to repair any ship with disabled or destroyed component. The idea was conveyed to CodeForce during the beta and I think that it's worth keeping in mind for future updates.

Addition observation ...
have settet the ship in question here to automatic ... have hoped the intern automation found an way out of the problem ...
but this have it maked more worse ....
The ship was going switch orders on sec to another ... and the whole game become sluggish ... looks like an endles loop in code ...
Have changed ship to manual and the game was like before .... but can doing nothing with the ship - not even self destruct :P

Report that and add a link to this thread. For now, make due. Your ship is not lost: just wait for it to self-repair.
