• Enemy Tsuyung withdrawal continues. Recon of enemy crossing the river shows 8 units, 46,640 troops, 356 guns, 86 AFV.

• Our roadblock is strong and the paras guarding the back door are digging in.

• It appears the force which moved westward out of Chengtu are 3 units, 2,000 troops, 15 guns, 0 AFV. The para division should hold fine.

• With Kweilin captured, the 3 brigades/regiments there will head off to block hexes adjacent to Chungking which are across rivers, thus cutting off supply and retreat paths.

• A small base force is dispatched to Kweilin, mostly to repair the base and build fortifications.

• The best part about the capitulation of Pucheng is that the Empire did not get to see our forces present. The armor will now head to Chuhsien, 2 hexes away.

• Artillery, infantry, and a base force staged at Kanhsien will now move by truck to Pucheng.

• More engineer units have arrived at Amoy. Additional base forces will begin unloading at the port tonight.

• The Bde and armored cars are still moving west to Chaochow. Now recon shows at Swatow there are 2 units, 1,520 troops, 12 guns, 0 AFV. No imminent danger of partisans springing from the ground.

• The Chinese Army 3rd New Corps has split and will move into Kukong from Kukong's SE (present location) and E (direction of Kanhsien).

• Okinawa building continues.

• Vladivostok is so incredibly over stacked with vacationing troops from the west that there is nary a scrap of bread to be found in the place. And until Soviet activation I can't move anything out of the base! All air unit training suspended, all ground units put into rest mode. (There is bread for the rulers, supply is just less than double needed so it shows red.)

• Looking at the casualties of disabled squads and engineers (which I presume are combat engineers), I think they do not have the requisite 1/3 AV to reach the anti-shock ratio.

• We have troops moving down from Tsuyung to try and encircle the enemy horde. They will take a while.

• Additional Allied brigades have begun arriving at Neikiang by truck. The armored cars (light cav Rgt) will move up to just outside Chengtu in case there are still weak enemy units there. The paras guarding the back door to the roadblock will move NE and engage the enemy which have moved out of Chengtu.

• Our armor is 1 hex from Chuhsien and they scout an enemy unit there.

• It appears that no more enemy units are heading east directly across the river. Instead it appears units are heading both NE and SE. Both groups would face a minimum of 2 hexes off road, which is just what we want: keeping them out of play until they are not relevant.

• The para division is still moving on the units west of Chengtu.

• With a Bde to hold Neikiang against partisans, the armored cars are moving on the hex just SE of Chengtu and have spotted an enemy unit there.

• 2,654 AV at Chungking.

• The encirclement of Chungking continues.

• Preliminary recon of Kienko shows it may be weakly held. Perhaps the armored cars can clear the place after sweeping the approaches to Chengtu.

• Infantry and artillery will be at Pucheng tomorrow, and can be at Chuhsien the day after if we hold it.

• It looks as though the enemy division at Tsinkiang (ex-Amoy) is heading NE, possibly to interdict strategic movement on the primary road to Pucheng that we are using. The armored car Rgt is being diverted to get to the road junction and hold it against them. Tactical air is being assigned to slow the enemy division.

• The Bde assigned will continue moving on Chaochow.

• 920 AV at Chuhsien. Assault tomorrow. Enemy is 4 units, 8,020 troops, 45 guns, 2 AFV.

• A lot more engineers are unloading at Amoy, which is building fast.

• The Tsuyung withdrawal's movement around our roadblock continues.

• It appears there are no more enemy moving into our roadblock, so we will attack tomorrow to retreat the enemy that crossed back into their main body and hopefully increase over stacking and supply usage.

• The para division will make contact with the enemy west of Chengtu in 2 days.

• The armored cars are in hex with the enemy SE of Chengtu and will attack tomorrow.

• 2,659 AV at Chungking.

• Another Bde has trucked into Neikiang. The Bde already there will move to occupy the hex east of Chungking to cut off supply and retreat there.

• The 36th British Division at Kanhsien will move by truck to Amoy, then assault east into Tsinkiang, and finally move NE to attack the Imperial division attempting to interdict our supply route and destroy that division.

• A brigade at Amoy is joining the armored cars moving to secure to supply route. the idea is to hold the hex when the Imperial division moves in, so the 36th British Division can move in behind and trap it for destruction.

• Engineering units are commencing to move by truck from Canton to Pucheng.

• A base force, 3 infantry divisions, and many artillery units have arrived at Pucheng by truck. One of the infantry divisions will dismount and move to Chuhsien to aid matters there.

• 865 AV at Chuhsien. Assault continues tomorrow.

• We have a brigade now 1 hex out from Chaochow.

• Enemy Tsuyung withdrawal continues moving around our roadblock.

• With the lack of imminent challenge to the roadblock we will free the USA tanks from that duty. First they will move east in case the paras need assistance.

• One of the enemy units just west of Chengtu has moved in hex with our para division, which will now cancel movement and attack.

• The armored cars will attack again to clear the recalcitrant speed bump.

• Our forces on the plain continue moving to encircle Chungking, while other forces passing through Kweiyang are moving to block the forest hexes SE and SW of Chungking.

• 2,661 AV at Chungking.

• The Chinese Army 3rd New Corps is moving on Kukong from two directions as previously noted, and now it appears the enemy is pulling out of that place.

• Armored cars will take up position on supply route to Pucheng tomorrow.

• Engineer units are still moving to Pucheng.

• 805 AV at Chuhsien. Attack continues tomorrow. Another tank unit will arrive tomorrow but too late to participate. The infantry division is farther behind, still pouring out of trucks.

• B-24's are moving into Amoy to start suppressing fortification rebuilding at Chuhsien.

• 4,747 AV at Singapore.

• See Picture just below. We should have close to 5,000 AV for the next assault. We will take significant casualties again, but we can expect to reduce the fortifications to 3 as a result of that battle. We will have over 1,000 AV ready to move in with a few days notice, plus various partially recovered combat engineer units. Those should help us maintain fortification reduction. The point is, even though we could get far more AV by letting the units outside Singapore continue to recover, there is already enough there to help us roll through two or three attacks more quickly than we have been.

• The additional unit looks to be 3 days out from Singapore.

• 4,753 AV at Singapore.

• The plan at the moment is for the next ground assault at Singapore the day after the additional unit arrives there. The most recovered units from outside Singapore will begin moving into Singapore right after that attack with the next taking place as soon as they arrive. The remaining units will move in after, with the next assault as soon as they arrive.

• We now have troops in front of the Imperials making their way out of the mountains NE of Kunming/E of Tsuyung.

• The horde retreating from Tsuyung continues to work around our roadblock.

• The para division will contact the enemy west of Chengtu in 2 days.

• The armored cars will enter Kienko in 2 days.

• Our troops continue moving to surround Chungking.

• The Empire is moving troops through Changsha toward points east.

• Engineering units continue moving forward behind the spearhead.

• The Imperial units evicted from Chuhsien to the hex just SE are heading both east and west (toward Pucheng).

• Our infantry division between Pucheng and Chuhsien and moving into Chuhsien has split into regiments. 2 regiments will continue into Chuhsien and 1 regiment will move back to Pucheng for the time being.

• In addition to the armor we have 2 infantry divisions and all the artillery fording up at Chuhsien to march to Hangchow with the armor.

• Recon of Hangchow shows 7 units, 32,420 troops, 319 guns, 71 AFV.

• Recon of Shanghai shows 30 units, 100,880 troops, 1,001 guns, 744 AFV. We might need more guys!

• No sign of the IJN fleet.

• I think the end is in sight at Singapore, even though it will be several battles until we capture the base and even more before the place is secured. Once Singapore is captured we will free up the best units for recovery and duty either in China or the Home Islands.

• Likewise the end is in sight at Chungking even though we've only made one assault and fortifications remain at level 8. The defenders suffered a supply malus and disablements in excess of 10% during that action. In 6 days or so we will see what even less supply for them and more forces for us accomplishes. The influx of Chinese Army unit arrivals (after either capture or securing of Chungking, I forget which) will free up strong forces for the Shanghai area and other points. Perhaps the other Allies can meet the Soviets at the Yalu River?

• Additional unit for Singapore should arrive tomorrow.

• 4,754 AV at Singapore.

Philippines

• Our troops are beginning to move into Manila from 3 directions.

China

• Imperial units cut off near Kunming and Tsuyung are heading in different directions, obviously intent on doing what they can to tie up Allied troops.

• The ex-Tsuyung Imperials are now seen moving somewhat differently to skirt our roadblock. They are still moving NE, but are no longer seen moving SE, although that might be an artifact of recon. They are now seen moving E, straight across the river into our roadblock. Should we bring back the tanks? No. I think our roadblock as is, 935 AV and consisting of the Indian 268th Motorized Bde and the Chinese 28th Corps, should be able to hold.

• The para division will be 1 hex west of Chengtu tomorrow, where there are now 2 enemy units.

• The armored cars will enter Kienko tomorrow.

• 2,834 AV in Chungking.

• In about 5 days all the units assigned to reduce Imperial defenses at Chungking will be in place. Encirclement will take longer, off-road movement into the hex SE of Chungking taking the longest. With the high level of fortification that will cause no delay. When all those assigned units are in Chungking our initial AV should be more than 4,400.

• We are keeping 1 Bde, currently at Neikiang, to respond to enemy movements which might interfere with current operations on the Chungking plain.

• 955 AV at Kukong. Assault tomorrow. Recon shows 2 units, 9,820 troops, 34 guns, 0 AFV.

• Our forces continue moving on Hangchow, being careful to route around a possible river crossing.

• Engineering units have begun arriving at Pucheng, some will move on to Chuhsien.

• The enemy division ex-Amoy has moved onto our supply route to Pucheng but we have an infantry Bde and armored cars there. They will hold the road open until our division at Amoy can attack through Tsinkiang and destroy the enemy division from behind.

• Waiting on units to surround Swatow.

• Our division will probably enter Tsinkiang in 2 days.

• USA fighters from Nago will begin sweeping Shanghai tomorrow.

• The enemy across the river from our roadblock is heading NE and east, but does not appear to be heading SE any longer.

• The para division is in hex with 2 enemy units, strength unknown, just west of Chengtu. Assault tomorrow.

• 54 AV at Kienko. Assault tomorrow.

• 2,848 AV at Chungking.

• More units moving into Chungking and others encircling it.

• The 3rd New Chinese Corps will stay put at Kukong to repair the base and then await relief for garrison.

• We were very unlucky between Chuhsien and Pucheng. A regiment moved out of the hex today, just when an enemy unit moved in, blocking the supply route. One brigade each will stay in Pucheng and Chuhsien while the other moves to engage the intruder.

• Events near Chaochow awaiting more units.

• Likely tomorrow our division will enter Tsinkiang.

• The fighter sweeps of Shanghai went well. The squadrons (5) all need to rest as they swept as soon as flying into Nago.

• The units recovering at Malacca will begin moving in combat mode to Singapore. When they arrive there (estimate 11 days) an assault will be made.

• The units recovering at Johore Bharu will begin moving in combat mode to Singapore. When they arrive there (estimate 4 days) an assault will be made.

• 5,002 AV at Singapore. Assault tomorrow.

• The hope is for a fortification reduction with each assault, increasing the pressure and casualties inflicted on the defenders. Naval bombardments will be kept at as high a pace as practical. Tactical air strikes will be stood down between assaults because the high attrition would mean little to no air support available for the later land assaults.

• Still 2 enemy units in the mountains near Kunming, with our units blocking their access to the road to Chengtu.

• Another 12 enemy units continue working their way around the roadblock.

• While we have taken Kienko, recon shows enemy troops moving east out of Chengtu. Our armored car unit is too weak to stand up to any large unit. The stand-by Bde in Neikiang is heading there now but is much farther away than the enemy units, so the tanks will also head to Kienko. They might only stay until the Bde arrives, depending on how many enemy troops show up. Trapping and destroying as many enemy as possible on the Chungking plain is certainly an objective.

• 2,856 AV at Chungking. All assigned units should be on scene in 3 days.

• So it turns out the enemy division ex-Amoy which entered our supply route has interrupted strategic road movement (even though supply movement remains open). So, our armored cars and infantry division will assault now rather than waiting for the division attacking through Tsinkiang. We have 183 AV facing 1 unit with 13,000 troops, 51 guns, and 8 AFV. Tactical air is assisting.

• 461 AV at Tsinkiang. Assault tomorrow. The enemy has reinforced, with recon now showing 3 units, 5,800 troops, 17 guns, 0 AFV.

• Recon has not yet provided information on the strength of the enemy unit between Pucheng and Chuhsien. We will have a brigade on scene tomorrow.

• East of Pucheng and SW of Chuhsien is 1 enemy unit with 4,600 troops, 10 guns, 0 AFV.

• Most of the spearhead continues marching on the hex just SW of Hangchow, from where they will enter the city.

• Enemy units are arrayed on the roads in front of Wenchow. From there they can defend Wenchow and act against our supply route to Hangchow and Shanghai. We need more units to both deal with them to keep the supply route open and take Shanghai.

• 450 AV in Manila.

• Another brigade should be in Manila tomorrow.

• Our troops are close to Clark Field.

China

• It looks like the encircling units will just barely have time to get into position around Chungking.

• 2 enemy units in the mountains near Kunming.

• 1 unit holding them off the Tsuyung-Chengtu road.

• The 200th Chinese Division will wait a day for resupply before attacking again. The 2 enemy units they hit must be even worse on supply than they were before.

• The tanks have made it to Kienko, so the armored cars will hold while the tanks move west to them.

• 2 more units still moving to encircle Chungking. The last of them might need 5 full days to reach its assigned blocking hex.

• 4,229 AV in Chungking, not counting the brigade just passing through on its way to Kienko. Supplies are just a bit low and Disruption only slightly elevated. We will hold only to give the encircling units time to get on station so we do not have to pursue this scurvy horde and do it again.

• The enemy expelled from Kukong some time back, 7,400 troops, are still just NW of that city.

• Tomorrow and the next day reinforcements will arrive between Pucheng and Chuhsien.

• A Bde will arrive at Pucheng in 2 days and attack east from there to clear the area.

• The entire spearhead is just SW of Hangchow and will attack the speed bump unit tomorrow.

• A division will be in contact with an enemy division just NE of Tsinkiang tomorrow.

• Hangchow is taking on more defenders. Recon says 9 units, 61,060 troops, 429 guns, 91 AFV.
